I'm just pissed off about having to let people down as well as missing the track time (I really enjoy taking people who may never usually get to go in a high powered car around the track, as it gives them an insight into what it is like as well as something to rave about to peeps afterwards and I must confess that really makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside

As long as it gets fixed and I can enjoy it for the rest of the summer, then I'll be happy. If something goes majorly wrong after this, then it will be set fire to

Mike,
Jesus christ..... I would of thrown in the towel months and months ago (maybe lol)! I'm not sure if you are plain stupid, have a bottom less pit of money or are a total dedication freak!!![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
However.... I do fully appreciate how much things can cost and this type of "hobby" never comes cheap does it?!
So many people from the world of Scoobies have said I was / am a total tool for spending the kind of money I have on my Spec C build....... especially considering it is only a paltry 530bhp. It's a shame that some people do not realise that it is only the turbo spec holding my power back, as I find the present power level more than enough for my needs.
Also the engine is only a part of the whole build...... as you only too well appreciate.
For once in my life I decided to do it once, do it right. There are a number of half cocked Scoobs out there with 450+bhp as road / track cars that have been done for far less money. Unfortunately, a number of those tend to fail and be fraught with issues.
A road car build is one thing, but then expecting it to hold together on track is something else.
I know we have always had our banter between us over the years, but I sincerely hope you get this all sorted and get the car back where it belongs...... on track burning rubber!![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
BTW.... I was up at Snetterton last month, where were you.... you chicken!
Seriously though, I was quite impressed (I shit myself lol) with how much speed I could get down the back straight, compared to what I did with my old engine. I hit 150mph just before the first brake board..... what kind of speeds have you hit down the back straight (for comparison purposes)?

Not from what I've seen
.
Anyway peeps, some good news, I DON'T have bent valves (there IS a God, and he drives a Cosworth
)
. The leak test variances were caused by the fact that with the engine being upside down for however many months, there was a load of oil that seeped past the rings and into the cylinder head etc.
With this now completely cleaned out and run on the dyno for 3 hours to get rid of all the oil etc, the cylinders now have 100% identical compression. The engine is currently being put back in the car
.
