What were you thinking of? The reason I ask is that the width changes the dish etc and then they don't look the same....

Starts off slow (as I hadn't been on the new track lay-out) and gradually gets faster) .
Still getting used to the gearbox, as a couple of times I let the revs drop too low and couldn't get it in second - it seems it needs above 2500rpm to go from 3rd to 2nd .
Unfortunately I didn't have the camera on during the first session, or I would have videoed Harvey spinning off in front of me .
Vids are in HD, so look good on the TV .

Some good videos there Mike. How do you find the new gearbox compared to your old one? Do you think it makes the car easier to drive on track now?

This is the problem with a dog box that I have experienced, if you let the revs drop too low, it can be reluctant to go in gear. It didn't cut out (as you can see by the rev counter in the picture ), I just couldn't get it in gear due to letting the revs drop to 2000 or under.

It's the same when stationary, sometimes you have to let the clutch out a bit to get it into first or reverse.

LOL - I can imagine it would become a bit tiresome after a while on the road. Well worth it for the track though.

Is it just me or does the gearing seem a little short for some of the corners there. Ie gearchange required before full exit of a corner.

The shifting below 2000rpm should not be a problem Mike, aligning the dogs when stationary is pretty standard.

There is always a small probability that the dogs don't engage if they have flat tops and you are unlucky (perhaps 1 gearchange out of many). The Quaife MkII transverse seq gearbox (an early version, which I competed with, of what is now the straight cut QBE34G aka MkIII if I'm not mistaken) had the bad habit to stick in "neutral" between gears about 4 or 5% of the time - so it was useless. They had only 3 huge flat dogs and if they came head to head they'd not engage. 5-dogs and pent-roof designs mitigate or virtually eliminate this, and the oil used can also have some effect. I'd try something like the Millers "LS" 75w90 or some other "high slip" formulation which are made for dog boxes and plated diffs only (unsuitable for synchro gearboxes as they slip so much the synchros would not work).

Just the luck of the draw - that corner you refer to, 3rd is too tall....

As you can see in the vids, it doesn't happen very often, but as you can see below, they do have flat tops:

And that is the oil that I do run in it .

The more I am getting used to the box, the less I have the issues, as I am
obviously still learning it's idiosyncracies.

The car is currently at Pro-alloy having a few detail mods to improve the cooling and add a catch tank for the WRC breather (where it previously just had a hose under the car LOL).
The intercooler and oil cooler has had alloy plates fitted to ensure that all airflow is directed through to the intercooler and the radiator has been sealed onto the back of the intercooler for the same reason. There are also brake cooling ducts being made (but these aren't done yet). I'll let the photos do the talking:

Looking good Mike

Why have you had a catch tank fitted though, I thought the WRC breather was up to the job on a engine of this power?
Interested as have similar spec engine to you minus the inlet..
