Todays drive has gone very well.
I'm seeing a 20-25 deg C drop in oil temps overall, so the oil cooler is working very well considering where it is.
Rs national day is the next test, then we can remap and give it some right boost!
Should be a busy month.
Hopefully should have somemore boost for Fordfair.

.

Make sure it's mounted solid in all 4 corners mate, i had one fail quite quickly and after sending the supplier a pic of how it was mounted they basically told me to do one as it was probably vibration that caused the failer :-(

Latest purchase this morning!

X2 dipped beam relays, sick of popping the bonnet, removing & refitting them, wiggling them to get lights working.
So I've treated it to 2 brand new'ens.( old relay in pic )

Well I was supposed to be on the Cheshire Rsoc stand with this tomorrow at tatton park classic car show, I've moved it out tonight after finally sourcing and replacing the ns rear wheel bearing to now find it's missing the battery, handbrake, oil pressure light on the dash, not reading fuel or water temp, it's not charging and has no brake lights.
I've had a quick look and noticed the brake light fuse has popped, I've replaced it but as soon as ignition is switched on it pops again.
I parked it up after Fordfair with no issues bar rear wheel bearing issues ffs!
I'll look into it more tomorrow! Gutted to miss tatton park.
Anyone any ideas?

Funny that you say that, as my car has all the above faults (apart from bearing, fuel gauge and brake lights, they work) :-/ and its got a new alternator, new oil pressure switch and new water temp sender. I dont understand it

If you fix it, let me know lol

Collecting a focus Rs gearbox, clutch, flywheel, mounts, selectors, driveshafts, starter motor on Tuesday evening. Also treating it to a fancy exhaust manifold.
Winter upgrades.
Just need to pinch a mounting plate off a scrap focus and a couple of wiring plugs. Then find the balls to drop the lump out again and chop the inner wing out!!!

It'll be worth the agro I think.

If anyone has any how 2's or links to focus Rs box conversions please add here.
If not I'll post progress here.

Nice one, sounds like you'll have your work cut out....

The only guide I know of is on oddkidcreations web site http://www.oddkiddcreations.co.uk/vi...mtx+conversion

Maybe give you some insight

Ill register later on and take a look. Most of it should just bolt up, then just fabricating the mount on the inner wing, alittle paint and custom driveshafts. Sounds easy.

Half the conversion is already done with the hydraulic clutch. To be honest the oddkid site will only show you the cut out as there's is a rs2000 box with rod linkage and gives no mention off driveshafts

I'm sure it's all doo able in the 18x10 garage.
Will mount it up and paint it in the garage, and get the driveshafts modded to suit.

Was tempted to buy the lot and convert the estate. it's on 22k now.

Box is going to be the icing on the cake for the Orion.
Could really develop powerwise after this mod is done.
