Chris has a serious problem where he just cant leave the car alone even when its running perfectly. Its more of a problem with the owner not the car . Also he refuses to buy tools so he has pretty much built the car with tools which he has whittled from wood and bars of soap.

it makes the ecu think the engine is stone cold so makes it overfuel realy baddly and it will flood its self and can be bad enough to run out of exhaust usualy smokes realy bad when you can actualy get it to run

I know a ladd local who's had cossie's for years, he knows a yb inside and out

I'll get hold of him tomorrow and see if he can come and look or even advise over the phone - he's a good ladd/enthusiast

PM me what the problem is, your spec and what you've tried/replaced

I'll ring him tmorrow with the details and get back to you late afternoon/early evening tomorrow if he can help or advise

Chris ive had that problem with the petrol coming out the exhaust. I had put the ISCV on Inj one and caused it to overfuel & fire on 2. This was on a standard loom before i got one of Ryans.

Hope you sort it soon mate.

I'm gonna give this blue sensor a go first mate as the ECU has been visually checked and the board and chip tested. I'm starting to think the lads saying blue sensor maybe right.

You will have fun with that one mate as its a bit of a pain to get at.
Worth a try though as its a cheap one to replace and can cause all sorts of problems.

Just out of curiosity when was the last time you changed all the sensors?

Quickly scanning the last couple of pages of this topic i would be looking at these, in this order.

1) Map sensor and pipe.
2) ECT Sensor
3) Phase and crank plugs not inverted?
4) ECU Babyboard / Chip encryption circuit failure.

Worst comes to worst James and I will come up with some diagnostics and look at it one night this week pal.

A quick way to check if it's a injector fully open is to take all the spark plugs out and crank the engine over if one is 100% the fuel will shot out the spark plug hole and hit the underside of the bonnet (it did with mine when no.1 was fully open due to the wiring being earthing out)

as I had said - blue temp sensor at the back of the head - is it properly conected withe the two pin plug ? as this was overfueling mine massively - to the extent black fuel coming thru the turbo and outlet gaskets !!! shat me self thinking the turbo was knackered.... its a pig to get at but well be a simple swap job and hey presto.....

good luck and keep the chin up - the hard bits done - only small starting probs now ..... as was mine but i know its massively fustrating...

did in mine !!! - I had cranked it over and over so many times in the end that i fucked the starter up and the battery flat - so hooked it up to charger and melted the starter live wire!! like you know - when it goes pear shaped - everything seems to follow suit !!!

if you can get at a little oil from the engine - without draining - see if its thin and smells of petrol - if its new oil ion the block that is .....

I'm having similar problems on mine as well

Removed engine complete with loom from Shonkey when i scrapped him. Fitted into new shell and now only fires on 1+4 or 2+3, never all four together.

With spare plugs in HT leads they all spark when cranking, but then with the leads connected to engine it drops to 2 cylinders when it runs

1. Checked on IAW and no faults indicated
2. Coilpack changed
3. New CPS fitted and gapped at 0.6mm
4. Swapped ignition amps
5. Phase sensor on cam so not connected wrong.
5. SECS monitor reading correct ACT + ECT temps.
6. Tried it with another L8 fitted with wasted spark board and problem still there.

I'm close to setting it on fire
