so i took one over so they could get on with the flanges, the next week i went over to collect the kit with flanges ,i should have offered them up as the bolt holes in the gaskets were well over size for the bolts to holed them on :cursing:
so this has give me some more work to do as you will see from pics,
made a work bench for engine, metal rods bolted to x member and gbox mounting are the chassis rail profile saves struggling under car

so this has give me some more work to do as you will see from pics,

turned bungs to fill holes

made a jig to redrill holes

tig welded in all the bungs in then put them in 4 jaw chuck on lathe and faced them up

next machined tool to shape 2" tubes to fit ports and flanges

cut 40 mm long tubes then with a big hammer hit tool into tubes
all made some up other way to show how the looked

flanges all drilled and bolted to heads

first welded stubs on

then cut bends down to fit and tacked in place

ended up with this

and this

how close i managed to keep manifolds

all of and tig welded

4" collectors ready to weld

It does mate, Tim did that so he could fabricate the manifolds without needing to keep the engine in the bay.

When he did it I called him a clever bastard

So sprayed tubes with high temp paint, then wrapped and stainless clipped it into place ,so here are some pics of them fitted

wrap comes out different colours with flash so pics without flash

in this pic you can see i have wraped tubes short of collector as would be very hard to wrap when welded , now i can finish positioning collectors and shape to fit tubes weld in place, then paint and wrap you can also see length of stainless tube ready to connect to mongoose stainless system

a few more bits from the states

thats it for now hope fully will be back on it the weekend so more updates soon

started to make pattern for next part of tunnel/bulkhead

dummy fitting of dash and column

Now got to fit this tilton pedal box

Great project ! Keep up the good work Was wondering how possible would it be to fit a live axle say from a `90`s mustang Lx or gt onto a Sapphire. Has anyone ever done it before ?
Cheers

not sure if its been done or not, depends on width of axle but i would think it could fit but, it may go in rather easy or it could need a lot of moding to get it in,
you would need to do all the measuring of car and axle ,width, height, suspension pick-ups and go from there, plus you would need to check what ratio's are available for the diff?
