really do like this car, just got a mk4 escort as a run about .. now i no how it will look when it comes out the bodyshop ! just a quick q for you mate as i never played with a carb in my life lol, my mate gave me a k&n filter , is it just bosh on or do i have to re-jet it ?

people recomend a different jet, but ive never change the jet in this one and my first mk4 (1.6 cvh) and they both run fine....
my mate did the same with his and his is also fine...

little update...
sick of the boring look of the cvh na, so i want to throw a little bit of money at the engine bay..
so on the previous page, i sprayed the water cap and the screen wash cap matt black (to get into the theme)
and i picked up this little beaut!
also bought this omp strut brace off stu.h
its been done in crackle black, but not the best of jobs so when i get chance il clean the rocker cover and brace up and may do them in matt black
hope people like my choices of underbonnet looks

cover is mint, the middle breather is dented but thats only the sleeve piece..
and its got a few more dents in the oil cap, ive got a brand new oil cap to go on it..
but all the fins etc are mint..
for the price a payed its a bargin
and danny i give 20 for the brace..

same as my other 2 mk4s...bouncy lmao! all part of the fun!
well as its not goin on the track anytime soon, me and me mate just took a few coils off...(obviously wouldnt use it on track with chopped springs! )
yer it is a tiny bit lower on the back but obviously if the front was as low then there would be clearance issues when i run bigger wheels and tyres...
but theres not a problem with the back a tad lower than the front is there..

and ive just looked at the little breather next to the middle breather and its got a bung in, you dont need this anyway when you put then on a NA cvh...
just the two main breathers you need like the standard rocker cover..
and LOL at the comment about chopped springs, even i wouldnt say something like that, handling is ok with chopped springs but not amazingly..

Guys i won that Bonus when it was first listed. I spoke to the guy and he assured me it was 100% mint. It was 240 mile from my house and i asked him if there was any rust on arches, sills, soors etc becuase i would be leaveing at 5 in the morning and had to travel 240 mile.He assured me it was A1-imagine my dismay when i get down there this morning and the arch lips have rotted through, the doors are riddled with rust, the engines spewing out oil from every seal etc, it really is a bag of bollocks that looks as though it has done 130k not 30k. The guy is an absolute tw@t believe me, how my dad didnt beat the crap out of him i dont know

small update..
im was in two minds what to do with the rs16i rocker cover i bought, i was going to paint it matt black...
but after i gave it a good clean it came out like this...

done a pretti good job cleaning it if i say so myself...

just for anybody who hasnt noticed seeing as this hasnt been updated, the car got stripped and the shell scrapped, so im guessing its safe to say the project has ceased lol
