This is goanna be a cracker when it's sorted
Haha, do you? Have we spoke or would I recognise what you drive?

A bit random, but here's some bits and pieces
Got myself some Saph Cossie 4 pots (reminder, pads and discs to go on the shopping list!)
Stripped out most of the interior to see exactly what had rotted.....
Turns out it's just a bit at the rear of the floor pan and seat mount. Not bad for a 24 year old escort that's been sat unused ourdoors from 2001-2007
Also took a trip up north to the ridiculously northern village of Poolewe to buy some RS1600i bits..... namely this minty interior and spoiler
......And got all arty in the process
Scottish mountains vs Sheel Seats........ I'll take the seats, ta!
Don't think I'd get a job on 'Changing Rooms'
(it's actually even worse than this now..... on top of that lot I've now got to climb over a crossflow, spare Escort door and full front end of a Fiesta to get in )

Hope to see you up at Crail on Sunday!
It's a GT287653R (0.63 housing)
Don't worry, I'll insist that with your previous experience that you are the one to fit them!

No immediate hurry..... but it shouldn't be too long, especially as it's not me doing the bulk of the work now
Too true
The Estate's now running right for the first time in 7 months!
Weber Alpha throttle bodies and management just fitted..... sounds mental!
The other day at Sitech having TBs fitted to the estate, and the Mk3 in it's new home for just now.....
Here's hoping plenty of influence from the one on the left makes it's way onto the one on the right

ok pic time, taken with my phone
what used to live in there!
engine out, and it went up on the lift. made some nice noises though
only 3 patches needed sorting in the floor
the cross member
all cut off, well most of it fell off
and the new stuff.
ade will be up at the unit next week i think, so youll get proper pics and a full update.
bezo.

Nice work!
Good to see that there weren't any nasty suprises too!
That rust really was my fault...... leaving the car sitting for six years collecting rainwater in the floorpans and crossmember isn't the best plan for rust prevention! It was like brand new when I bought it!
Still, there's very few MK3's that need that little welding..... let alone still having their original wings!
Yep, will be up next week but feel free to keep snapping away!

A Focus RS engine, my ZVH, some random broken engine and my old RST lump...
The old crossmember that looked mint until breathed on..... where it would simply crumble
Sure sign of the car being off the road for 6 years! Looks like a shit haunted house in there
Crusty corners welded up nicely....
mmm, non crumbly new valance & crossmember
Simon looking suspicious
Now got to get a flywheel and clutch...... Focus RS seems the most capable, but can one be found? ....and more importantly would one even fit in a BC box?

Found some dodgy scans of some old pix, so here's a bit of background history on my MK3
Way back in 2000 I took a few more risks, so when I first bought the car I just drove it around for week or so on Dutch plates with not tax insurance or MOT
One of my first trips was actually to my local cruise at Strathy park which was always swarming with cops....
Gotta love all the period 80s Dutch tat (I kept finding the reamains of joints in the car as well for ages!)
Once legal and with a 1600 CVH, suspension, XR3i interior fitted etc this is how it looked for the year I had it on the road as my daily driver
It was then taken off the road, fitted with a MFi RST lump which never ran right and spent most of 5 years sitting in this driveway
Some tinkering, collecting of parts and being moved to my lockup was all that happened before going to Sitech Racing a few months ago!
This year should see equally as dramatic transformations
