i will do then, he is and has loads of experience with the motec systems..

looks like we have a similar plan , i have not decided on injectors just yet although i will most likely be using 750cc , as at that power ( 450-500 )620 cc on a 4 cyl is ideally needed as i never like to run more than 80% injector duty.

i have a swedish plenum on order, but like your thinking of throttle bodies

will look, do you have a link

Throttle bodies are mainly for response,.. Mike R also has now gone down the ITB's route on his Escos

Id stay Big throttle body personally on a normal road car, Plus its easier to map on a single throttle body

Im lucky my GTiR comes with throttle bodies, So im staying.. just for the sake of having them

Dennis,
If you were finding that the revving up on initial start was annoying, you should have just put a post up and I would have told you how to connect it to your switch so that the ALS valve was isolated from the ISCV test procedure (where the ECU sends a signal to pulse the ISCV to clean it, every time the ignition is turned on).

Have fun anyway .

Mine is now on T6 and the Mountune roller barrels and response is very good with a huge spread of power from 3500 to 8500 (still has 500bhp at 8500 rpm) .

impressive stuff, like the fact you are getting more advanced ecu etc to obtain better driveability over max power

mike, i have had it unplugged and it still used to rev up on start up, connecting the signal wire via the switch is something i am aware of, but as it made no difference in this instance it was seen as a waist of time. but as i say it was only one of a list of issues i had..

by the way, you don't have a small turbo escort crank pulley do you ?? (36 - 1 ) i have had one on order from fords for 7 weeks now and its holding me back ??

cheers ...

Hi Dennis,
Sorry I don't, but Steve Scott from A1 will have .

There's quite a bit you have to do to the switch as it needs a relay connecting in a certain way, but you have removed it, so no worries .

OK updates... i have been very busy at work so progress has been a bit slow...

never the less i have still made some progress...

my new Wossner pistons..

WRC spec 6 long studs...

my new intake plenum and port matched intake

i have now ported my head and flow tested it ... with a 22% increase in flow...

i have had all my bolts electroplated ....

i will be sending all the rotating bottom end off for balancing before it all goes back together...

i have also made the decision to lose the anti lag
i don`t know if i have made a decision i will regret or not

as some may of noticed the project is now in fast ford ... Thanks guys

i have been undecided for some time,i do like the ALS, but i intend on closed loop lambda control, and it will cook the sensors on a regular basis.. also this build is costing a few quid and don't want to harm it unnecessarily.. as i was looking for reliability, it seams to do more harm than good..

i will get some pics up soon, was actually a bit harder than i thought, as i had to change some of the materials to get a clean signal,,

i wanted to keep it looking " factory finish " as i personally think the sensor in the top looks ugly....

i was going to use that as well, but are hard to find...

also if i change the intake cam timing, the sensor will not see this change as its on the oil pump drive rather than on the cam it self..

but it will work just the same...

i am not sure when it will be done as i can only really work on it during " down time " and my free time at work, and we are quite busy at the moment.

but i should have all the bits back from balancing this week, so it should not be long till its back together, then running it in on the dyno..

how about you ??

would the benifits of antilag not out weigh the lambda control fueling on a car that would do minimal miles?

cool, what manifold are you going for ??

as for the dwell time`s i have not got that far yet, but the time will depend on the manufacturer's parameters for charge time`s ( most likely around 3-5 millisecond's..

are they denso items ??

if so if you give me the denso part number i will get them at the same time ...

hmm you do have a point, i have actually decided to keep the valve on the manifold ( now modified ) set up BUT not connected as yet, i may program it back in on the new ecu at a later date... with some shielding on the sensor i have been looking in to, to give it a chance of living

the idea was for reliability and driveability of most importance, but i will miss the anti lag so don't be surprised to hear it again

have you looked at a heat sink on the lambda sensor? I run one on my wideband and it might make yours last a bit longer?

Just read all the postings on your cossie. Being honest a lot of it is way above my station and understanding. However you have a truly stunning car amd from all the effort and hard work you have put in to this, I hope you get the results you want.

The people that are being catty well as I say, do one if you dont like

On the money side to do what you have done to your engine what would be the cost with labour as am looking in march to have my engine upgraded and would like 400bhp but not with it going wrong every 5 mins.

Regards

Gareth

look`s good, but i will check to make sure ... just need to find five minutes

as for the clutch ...

a preview...

unfortunately this has proven to be very expensive, as i have had to make major changes to the flywheel, gear box and operating mechanism and the clutch alone retails at £1000.00

but for the results, i feel it`s worth it and should be a fit and forget item.

i now have all the bits back and have got as far as fitting the crank with the ARP main stud kit and modding the block to accept the new knock sensor where it should be !!!

pics soon ..
