Right been in there today and the body man ( DEAN ) came down about 2pm and has just left and this is what we have got done today

got the wing all done and in primer



door frame in primer



got the front panel into primer too. where the air gun is has still got to be done as up to now i have spent about 12 hours working on the engine bay and theres still a lot to do



and the lower window panel all so is now in primer



each and every part of the car that has now got primer on has been all the way down to the metal eched primered and 2 coats of hi bild primer

i would of got more done but my mate ( REX ) wonted some help putting his new brakes on his escort cosworth

the n/s/f wing is getting there now and the n/s/r is all so getting there to so that means iv got a door frame to flat down juts like last week 4 hours + nice

Thanks lads ive just got back from working in great yarmoth 3 1/2 hours to get home 180 miles . Im only in the office tomorrow and then it our xmas night out

A very small update but not on the car the builders have been in today to start working on my roof .This stems back to when i got broke into and my bike went out the roof, the insurance have give me Ł2.250 to put it right and im sorting the builder out some "to do" mods to it. Im having it made higher and flat with a 8x4 beam by 19ft long in the center

fantastic mate your giving me ideas i have all my engine out my 3 door getting full rebuild have been tidying all it up with a lick off paint but really thinking now if i should go full hog because after seening your car it is tempting keep up the great work away to speak to the misses wish me luck lol

Thanks to everyone for the positive feedback. It means alot and its helping me along with the progress of getting it back together

Ideally i wanted the car painted before Christmas but due to working away alot, this hasn't happened so i'll have to catch up on doing a bit over the festive season and hopefully mid January we should see some paint

Also the roof should be finished by then, which has been another set back due to the first builder pissing me about, some things just seem like they take forever???
Anyway, for the meantime keep looking as other updates will be up (with pics) shortly

Hi all, feels like its been ages since ive put an update on the car up here!! Christmas is now out the way so time to get a move on in the garage !!!
I wanted to have the car painted by new year but due to working away it hasn't happened........Nowt to worry about as this is a hobby so time dosen't really matter, but i have made a fair bit of progress the last couple of days

As you lot are aware, its been a time consuming project having to prep the car myself, but to save the pennys its a must, thought this would never end but had my mate PETE round whos been a godsend....... I'll let the pictures do the talking.............

Problem here is around the boot section......pain in the arse to sand down and many hours of graft lol




Passenger side quarter now finished



4 hours on passenger door frame.....down to bare metal....finished





One job i thought would be easy is the roof..........yeah right...........pain in the arse being such a big area!!!! Flattened down ready for primer........finished!!!

I pulled the car in the drive and me and PETE went round sorting a few niggly bits out, going over it before the primer commensed.......











Rubbing down stage sorted.......had a quick brew and got the primer gun out hahaha...... heres what happened....











All in all im well chuffed with the progress to date........finally all in one colour at last. DEAN my bodyshop man will be up tommorow to give the car the once over and a booking slot will be sorted for the car to go in for PAINT!!!!!

Gonna have a good earned beer round the house tommorow nite, got some of the lads coming round Should be a good year and hopefully the car will be at some of the 2008 shows this summer!!!

Ive been and got some paint tonight from JAYWEL PAINTS on offer Ł55 5lt DIAMOND WHITE and 2.1/2 lt hardner






so all the floor inside and under can be painted the plan is to paint it this weekend and next week the hole car is been flated down as of tonight the body shop have told me they can have the car down on the 19th of this month to paint the shell so ive got to pull my finger out and get it done the rest of the stuff will go down as i get it done

yeah I love the car, its a shame as its got a wing off as the dreaded rust has set in again!

So far its had a bottom end rebuild, inner sills, floor pan and now new scuttle!

You can never get all the rust out of an old ford! Gonna need a paint some time soon. That must have been a few years ago now.

So I am hoping to have it back on the road by the big show at Ford Fair and it may have a few new tricks up its sleve.

Been trying to get Rex round to have a look at it but I dont think he wants to!

Just an update, couldn't do alot yesterday due to the weather but ive certainly made up for it today!

Pulled the car out the garage and flipped it over, give it a quick final once over with a scotch pad and got DEAN round with his spray gun and a tin of diamond white paint!!







Underneath now sorted. 2 coats of the finest diamond white

Then we moved on to the inside of the car starting with the roof and pillar section, heres dean in action.............





Then whilst he was into the swing of things he gave the engine bay a coat of paint......Final coat will go on next saturday when car goes in for spray FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!



So as the car stands at the minute, inside is near enough done and underneath is finished. Like i mentioned just, the whole outside of the car/ door shuts etc and engine bay will be done in the oven for a perfect finish.

All that i'll be doing in the week is basically going over the car doing a bit of flatting down here and there ready for paint next week. Ive managed over the last week to find a mint carpet with underlays in one piece......

We were working on the car agen last night for the 2nd nihgt in a row and we are in there agen tonght blocking and wet flatting so it will be ready for satday morning . And allso last night i had some more new parts tern up my mate REX went over to see MATT LEWIS and came back with these for me

Well we have had a good one on the car today as all went to plan with the painting of the shell we were on the move about 7am to get the trailer and then back home for about 8am to load up





when we got there it went straight into the booth to get it dried off as all it has done in birmingham is piss down all day. so off to the cafe we went when we got back GARY had come in especlally to paint my car and he was on the go with it







O and thats when dean said he wanted to play to













In all it had two coats of paint and a good bake to say im happy well

and a BIG THANKS to jason the BOSS and gary and dean for all there hard work today



Then she was bagged up for the trip home



She is now home and all in one colour at last
