That's very cool, are you still using the 1800 Zetec lump then?

One of my mates is building a RWD Mark 2 as well, using a Capri 2.8 V6 I think, but he has also cut the bulkhead and refabricated the centre much further back, so the engine now sits behind the front wheels, although it means he is pretty much sitting next to it!

right havent updated in a while since the last one anyways ive got the n/s tub in and welded up and the arch put on. ive decided just to stick at one area until its finished and since i dont have an engine ive started from the rear, i got a repackable rear silencer as i wanted to cut the rear pannel to fit it , the first pictures are of it fitted normaly i dont think it looked right sitting that low so i cut the pannel up a bit but decided it wasnt enough so the last 3 pictures are of how it will should stay what do you all reckon?

managed to finally get an s2000 engine and box so the first thing id to do was to move the gear level forward as it sat to far back so had to cut the selector bar and drill and re tap it then make a bracket to hold the gear selector, then i had to cut away a lot of metal id welding in as i made it to fit a zetec and this is just a wee bit bigger, i just need to weld up the mounts for the engine but its nearly in place

im still here but havnt done too much since the last update from being sick to lack of motivation when i realised how much id have to cut out what id welded in to fit the 6 speed box, as the pictures show i have cut a bit out and started to make an exhaust after i finally got a manifold for it.The gearbox picture isnt the best but ill take better ones the next time out at it but it does show the size of the box in the fiesta. oh and i dont know if you noticed but there will only be one silencer at the rear so it should be pretty loud at 9000 rpm

Bloody hell there has been alot of body work gone into this.I know a lad who built a rear wheel drive fiesta and he took it to croft circuit and the first corner he came to he fooked it.

hello mate,

great thread! really good work!

Im tackling the same myself using a mk1 fiesta and a pinto . few questions for you if you dont mind...

1. im using a capri xmember, are these any different sizewise to the escort one?
""

2. Does ALL the inner wing have to come out? ive measured up and looked and i might be possible to do it without that or is it just easier to make a new one like you have

3. having the xmeber in this position ( to line up with the turrets ) means the engine /box sits quite far back into the car, did u have the same problem?

your thread is an awsum help, thankyou!
