Looking good mate. You certainly like a challenge. I remember you doing that red S2 though, and that looked the business when you'd finished. Good luck with it mate, and keep those pics coming.

Yes, we've both been around the scene for quite a while now haven't we. I keep saying I'll never have another but then get something different and it's never quite the same.

This cab I got should be nice just for pootling around in the sun when it's done but I bet I have another RS of some sort before too long!

Like the dash, you wouldn't believe this but I broke a MK3 XR3i up many years ago and kept the mint dash in my dad's shed for years, then he wanted it cleaning out so I chucked it away about 8 years ago!

Yes i am Dave always have been

Trev yeah been around a bit now. Ive not owned so many RS's but what ive owned have been nice. Id never buy an escos again to leave in the garage. I dont mind a classic like this getting left in there....but Escos are for using..like dave does Id maybe have a 3 door cos but again, id want to use it often

Done some work today, one patch underneath. It was pea sized with some slight pitting round it, so i cut it out and replaced it. Ill get pics tommorow. TBH i always forget to take the damn pics...should have took one of the hole

Lee Reynolds

well if you buy a good escort cos, then there is no reason to use it all the time,no real need to worry about it getting used, damaged etc....

if mine gets damaged..it gets fixed...thats the way a car should be.

Which ever's going to give you the best long term rust protection

I'd would go black, given the choice and also taking into account you won't be doing concours so he 'factory' finish does not matter.

Nice project BTW.. I will be keeping an eye on this so regular updates please.... with decent pictures

Just a small repair! Where arch meets sill had gone, and part of inner arch at same spot, so i cut repair sections out of patten panels and welded them in, and skimmed over with filler!

Not the best update i know but im busy so not getting much done. I should have taken before pics too. Other side is similar ill take before during and after ones of that!

RS1600i's rock I'd consider buying another one if they wern't slow as shit!

You've chosen a good colour Lee- problem is- its black and everyone knows SILVER ones are the best.

Heres a few pics of mine- I did the aniversary parade with it at ND a few years ago.. I did 40k in it during my 2 and 1/2 year ownership- she was actually a previous front cover feature car from mid 90's on Fast Ford and sported the famous 10th option. (made famous by me and my car- ask Tricky Dicky, NUTRUS and Tony Fuller aka RS16iRegistrar lol

I sold it in the end with
New fr panel
2 new wings
3 sets of coils
3 ecu's
3 sensor leads
a MINT tail gate
a very very good dash board
front spolier
rear spoiler
front bumper
rear bumper
NEW sticker set.

Not bad for Ł800 quid!!!!
( I paid Ł1600 for it)

Caspian is the best- but only because its the rarest.

I broke an ex concourse caspian blue one...

AND MATT- that had the 10th option on it.
