Clearly you dont know much about carbon fiber, then. Depending on the weave it acan be much stiffer than steel. Anyway stiffness has nothing to do with ultimate strength either.

Thanks for all the comments ,as i have not been able to get more on the bumper done yet as i have to do it ouside(weather) i decieded to crack on with another quick and simple mod ,modified some of the new style wipers from a new polo to fit the escort ,after some measuring ,grinding and cutting the correct lenghts were acheived and i got Dave to weld them onto a pair of escort arms i bought .
Quick test fit after welding.

o/s arm is now very short,as it now has the long blade.

Great Mod Dave! I've been thinking of replacing my escort blades / arms for something off the VAG group for a while now!

Didnt know it was going to be so involved though!

Wiper idea is trick - was planning on doing it on my Fiesta, but was going to try and just use the whole new VW wiper arm - your idea is alot easier since the original spindle size and arm connection is kept the same.

Will be interested to hear how they perform but since your car is never out in the rain we will never know

Excuse me for being ignorant, but what's the big difference with those wipers?

What makes them so good?

Another individual touch though
