well today steve663 (pink RS2000 2wd) fitted my coilovers, with a few cups of coffee supplied by me (girly purple RS2000 4x4)[:I] Az (red RS2000 4x4) also made an appearance when he finally woke up and my best mate (or dad) malc (1800 si in red) came round... oh and then my other mate matt (black RS2000 2wd) turned up, please excuse the bad picture quality...
first arrival was steve at 8.30ish
then we got my car in the air and the wheels fell off
a quick look at my bufty engine bay... bling bling
then it was time to have a cup of tea, and make sure nobody could pinch my alloys []
i found an old radio that seemed to play old music which kept steve happy []
then some magic happened
and then malc arrived, and his car was dirty and as i owed jordi a was i set about cleaning her as it tried to snow
Then i made sure steve wasnt slacking []
next up another sum 1 arrived
so i borrowed a wheel off AZ [] i must say i like the mo's

Then time to make my car back into an RS2000
and finally a photoshoot on the front lawn
Then the wonderful invention that is modern technology let us down and matt turned up after steve had left so we had a couple more photos
then we all had a cup of tea and lived happily ever after... THE END
Massive thanks once again to steve for all his hard work and the cakes/crisps and biscuits []

small update i won a 2.3L i4 engine (not the duratec sort) off ebay for £150 yesterday, so there should be an update with a few pics of that soon, benefits of having a 2.3 instead of the 2L will be a marginal increase in power and about 25% more torque

Ok so here goes the start of my 2.3 strip down and build, first up take one engine stand, and one crane…
This is how the engine looked before I started
Coilpacks
Exhaust side
Inlet
First thing I decided to remove was the exhaust manifold
Then i decided I would remove the coilpacks and the the leads,
Then it was time for the inlet side, which was slightly harder than the exhaust side,
Next up off came the cam cover and front timing chain cover,
I then removed the spark plugs
After that I turned the engine over to make sure it wasn’t seized solid which it wasn’t, then I thought about taking the head off but didn’t have a big enough bit for the headbolts so I stopped there, and put the cam cover back on and the front timing chain cover and covered the engine for another day.
Massive thanks to this trusty trolley I found in the garage
Might be more updates tomorrow if I go out and buy the tools I need, I defiantly want to get the head off soon, so I can have a look at the bores and then get the sump off…
