I have asked to be on the Surrey RS owners club stand. But I may have to buy a ticket for another group as Surrey is dead atm. Didnt really get any members come to last last months meet, Cant really have a stand with one car on it

Lol! I havnt sorted a stand yet may have to tap up the fast ford boys see what's occurring
I havnt run before and don't dare as it would kill the box but with more power this year I'm sure it would get into the 13s?!

good thread, just watched your 13.5s. were they filmed on a go pro? cars fast!! grips well to considering there looks to be the magic gold dust on the line which does a ok job at soaking up fluid and giving grip but its never as good as the tarmac. impressive car

The best I ran was a 13.4294 @ 108.46 MPH. If I leave it in 4th and hit the limiter when just crossing the line I can do over 110 MPH terminal but if I change up to 5th before the line I can only mange 108 MPH.
Your not wrong J1mbo the cooler is big
That's right Zen_ZS I was using a go pro HD. This was the first time using it so was sort of experimenting.
I'm happy with the times. The car is not setup for the strip. The suspension is set for track use. Don't think having a toolbox and a spare 16" Mondeo alloy in the boot helps also lol.

I've read this thread aillion times but I have a few questions. I made the stupid mistake of using a blacktop 2.0, how did you get the ib5 to fit and when u fitted the mtx did u move the starter motor from the back to the front?
#260
Whats the smoke in the cock pit from just before the slide?
Well held though!

The IB5 gearbox bolts to the engine fine. I used a CVH EFI flywheel and an AP RS Turbo four paddle clutch.
When i moved to MTx75 I used the RS2000 box for the easy of fitting. As you just use RS 2000 gearbox mounts.
After checking under the car all I found was CV grease around the sub frame so I think it as just a spray hitting the exhaust.

Hi, first sorry if there is answer already but what type of wheels is that you have? It's not true Cosworth wheels but replicas of them... 7Jx16H2 ? And what tyre do you have on it? Thank you, I'm considering buy them too they are cheap and easily buyable than cossies.
Edit: Sorry, found answer on first page 6.5Jx16H2 ET40. I can buy same wheels in 7Jx16H2 ET35

Have you got a Cambelt cover on this yet? be a shame if a stone took out the belt trashing the valves! But mint mate. not keen on the cossie vents though imo

did you have to do any modifications to get the fiesta/mondeo manifold to fit mate? i had to angle grind a couple of mm off the bar for the master cylinder at the back of the engine bay and re-locate the fuel filter but its still quite close, woried it will knock it under engine breaking?

Sounds like you have the mondeo manifold. You may want to change to the focus one.
#267
Yeah that might be the problem ive got the mondeo one lol, is the flow any good on them mate? and would it be able to put up with about a bar of boost pressure?

Ok Update time.
Had the car off the road since the end of August for some upgrades.
I sent the gearbox off for a freshen up and to fix the 3rd gear selector fork. I managed to bend it or something as it was jumping out of 3rd gear. Think you can see it happen in one of my Silverstone track day videos.
Box back from the shop.
I also decided to change the clutch to a Focus RS AP six paddle.
This is not a straightforward fit into the early MTX75 gearbox found on the RS2000. The bell housing on the later MTX75 is a bit bigger. I wanted to use the smallest amount of spacers on the gearbox, so made a mock up of the clutch and flywheel to find the part that was hitting the inside of the gearbox.
The first part to hit where the clutch cover bolts.
So I have changed them to a dome head allen bolt to fix that.
The next part of the clutch was the outside of the clutch cover.
So i started to cut the inside of the gearbox out.
After cutting and then bolting to a spare engine with spacer plates I finally found a happy medium of spacers and cutting the gearbox.
As I was using spacer plates on the gearbox i had some longer engine dowels made up.
This is a photo of the flywheel and clutch fitted. Also you can see the spacer plates.
After getting the gearbox fitted and mounted back onto the engine i was having a check around the engine bay and found what looked the a crack on the alloy housing of the engine mount. So this had to come out for inspection.
As you can see from the photos it was worse than it first looked.
After some emails to Vibra-Technics I Managed to get a replacement made up in steel instead.
This wasn't the only part of my car that needed replacing after a hard life.
I found my oil return from the turbo had started to harden and crack up.
So next next phone call was to Roose Motorsport for a replacement.
So after over six months last weekend the car was back together.
Had its MOT this weekend and passed so I had the green light for central day at the POD.
Just spent the day cleaning under the bonnet.
The last photo of my update the car is clean ready for Central day tomorrow.

That mount is quite shocking, glad the one they made me is thick gauge steel! I wouldn't be surprised if they ask you to take those photos down (if they find them!)
Glad to see it back on the road
