I did not say I was going for 400 bhp on the std manifolds!
I am getting it mapped on pectel t2 for about 340/350 to which point the inlet will be maxed out. Then later on when I get bored with the power and install a mtx75 gearbox I will change to area six manifolds to unlock more power.

Just ordered a 044 fuel pump.
This will be fitted under the car and fed from my in tank escort cosworth pump.
Now that I will be running a feed from my battery to the boot to feed the two fuel pumps I am in two minds if to not just move the whole battery.
Pics coming soon.

The car passed its MOT today.
Just need to fit the fuel system with a 044 pump and fuel swirl pot. Fit the Pectel T2, then its mapping time.

Wow long time from the last update.
Soon after my last post back in November 2008 I broke my CTS IB5 Stage 2 gearbox. I was on my way back from Grove garage after talking about what’s best for my new fuel system. Only about 10 mins from home after just coming of the M25 I was changing up into 4th and got a nice BANG .. I had lost all gears other than 1st and 2nd Doh!!
Decided its best to Upgrade to a MTX75 gearbox as it’s not a big job to fit into a MK5.
I managed to pick up an old RS2000 MTX75 gearbox for a good price. So loaded up my runabout with my broken IB5 and new MTX75 for a trip to Bernie at CTS.
I was really surprised when I got a call from Bernie not even three weeks after dropping the gearbox’s off saying they are built and ready for collection.
Below my focus boot full with a newly rebuilt IB5 Stage 2 and a Special MTX75.
I now have the new gearbox fitted up with rebuilt driveshafts and new AP 4 paddle.
Start of the Problems.
After fitting I noticed the gearbox side of the engine was sitting a good inch forward in the engine bay. Got on the phone to my bro Alex and found out the bracket from the engine mount to the engine is different in escort MK5/6 with zetec/mtx75.
Below a nice new bracket mount thanks to my bro who works for fords.
You can see the difference from the old bracket right to the new on the left.
Bracket now modified for the blacktop zetec and mounted onto Vibra-Technics engine mount.
All sitting right in the engine bay now.
The next problem.
Now my engine sits a good inch forward in the engine bay my radiator and intercooler don’t fit in the same space. The compressor housing and actuator are in the way. Doh...
So my next tasks are. Refit the radiator more forward with room for movement in the engine. Then modify my bumper so I can fit the intercooler in the space in-between the radiator and the bumper.
When I am doing this I will modify the hole in the bumper so more of the intercooler core is showing.
Updates tomorrow with the work I have done this weekend.

The zetec had just finished running in doing 1k miles before the old gearbox broke.
I am going to do about 100 miles on OFAB just to check things out and get some miles on the new MTX75 box then its off to grove for a better fuel system and pectel T2 fitted and mapped.
Some of the things done this weekend.
I removed my old MK5 brake reservoir tank and fitted the later spec mk6 type.
This is to give me more room when I decide to change inlet manifold to run boost pipes past. Plus it looks fresh.
Old
New
I also got a ford MK6 lower subframe brace.
I had to modify the gearbox a bit to fit the bar to the subframe.
Mondeo mtx75 gearknob
Lets hope its nice weather this weekend so I can get even more done.

Update.
Had a good weekend on the car.
Got some new exhaust clamps form fords as my old are way past it.
Car back on four wheels
Made up a template for for intercooler out of card and started chopping up an old bumper I had to use as a test.
After getting the hight and depth right I make up some new brackets for the cooler.
Some pics of the cut up bumper with the 4x4 cooler now fitted.
Fitted all the water houses back in and filled up the system.
This is how the engine bay looks now.
And that was my weekend working on the car.
Now I have the old bumper chopped up and fitted I can get a body shop to cut up my good bumper and make a decent job of it.
But I am in two minds if to leave the intercooler how it is or get it painted black.

Thanks Jimbo
The cut out in the bumper will be symmetrical when done by the body shop.
But the intercooler will be staying on one side.

Got some more done on Sunday.
Boost hoses all fitted up and air filter in place. Fitted some more of the dash back in.
After priming up the oil system and turbo the car fired up first time for over 6 months
All running sweet.
Gave the clutch and gearbox a test and all worked fine.
Backed the car off the drive for a trip round the block.
The MTX75 gearbox feels nice.
Below are some pics of the car after a bit of a wash.
Going to work on the bumper next weekend

Update.
Got my bling xover pipe fitted today. Just need to tap it for the ICV and boost control.
Made up some brackets for my oil cooler and fitted into the engine bay. Not going to connect it all up just yet.
Also tidied up the bay by removing some cable ties and replacing with some P-clips.
Pic pics
Will pick up my Strut brace tonight from my bro. He had is work paint it for me.
