Verry neat.

Might want to consider strengthening the area where the inner wing meets the bulkhead as i know they are weak there as some police sierras ended up with creases in the top of the wing where it meets the bottom of the screen pillar

A previous sierra of mine also did the same after a hitting a rather large pothole

I'll look into it, does not sound like an easy job though as it's an awkward shape

Ebay bargain 75mm billet aluminium 75mm Accufab throttle body

Now I need to open out the intake manifold to match!

Throttle cable ball looks too small though.

Does anyone know the diameter of the standard Sierra throttle cable ball ?

Looks great so far mate even if you just dropped a bogo standard 2.0 pinto back in her she would be immaculate and that realistically is the main point engines can be changed time n time again but body work is a ball ache if not done right the first time

keep at it

Just wondering, as I am going to do what you are doing this winter, and bare metalling the car, how did you go about priming the car? Did you use an etch then the epoxy mastic 421? Or a zinc rich primer, or did you just use the epoxy?

Just epoxy 421 mate, epoxy mastic is a different product that I will probably end up going over the bottom of the car with later as it is meant to be resistant to stone chips.

I've been busy with work and hope to get back in the garage on Sunday !

Oops forgot about that. So just 421? Suprises me, but for 100 quid I would expect good stuff containing everything. Cheers

What I SHOULD have done was just used Epoxy mastic 121 straight on the bottom of the car.

I started with the custom epoxy 421 as it can be used for bodywork as well, it's going to cost me a lot more doing it this way this way but it will have plenty of protection in the end!

Spent a few hours on the driver's side under bonnet area today trying to get the paint off all the nooks and crannies.

I'm too scared to add all the hours up

I started the engine bay in August......

In my defense I only get one day at the weekend to tinker if I'm lucky

Got my mojo back now

New old stock floor bungs

Clipped in and warmed with hot air gun to melt the glue.

Next was three tubes of 3M polyurethane seam sealer, not as neat as I would have liked but it will do the job

This was after the first bit I did was dry , isn't a great pic as it was a shitty iPhone camera , since then I think I did 2 more complete coverings, looks good with the gloss powder coated beam , silver tank and fuel pump cradle and silver diff.

Looks nice and smooth

I'm going to paint over it body colour and don't want to do too much sanding - 121 is meant to be rock hard!

Also ordered some Epoxy mastic today to spray over the whole of the underside.
