been to pick the new motor up today from andy gallacher, 680bhp here we come

 

Now that will look nice sitting proud in the scort mate, should make a hell of a difference in traction too

 

thats gonna surprise a few more people when it hits the strip again

should be gud mate what was the spec of the old engine

 

the old motor was built to 400bhp spec 5 years ago & has never been apart just bits added & mapped to what it is now

 

ye just need to sell the old motor etc and decide what gearbox and diffs im using

 

so standard pistons block and head. its did well for the time its in

 

no not standard

it was built to run a reliable 400 bhp& as its seen its fair share of abuse at well over 400bhp it was built well

 

no uprated low comp pocket pistons, standard crank and rods, its a perfect build for towards 550bhp now,

 

so whens the new motor going in wenny ,

will's just rang said hes up on thurs ,

Needs an OS Giken or FFD now with some 3.9 or shorter diffs to really come alive now. Will be silly. Never seen it run in its old guise but will be making some effort to see it run in its new one thats for sure

What front diff do you have at the moment Wenny? is it a thick wall quaife casing with atb?

car chould be a rolling shell next week ready for the cage and all the new upgrades, got quite a few bits to get rid of now

 

Are you going weld in or just a six point safety devices,

 

a full weld in jobby, didnt want 1 but the car will pull itself apart and it needs 1 for the safety side

You'll have to take the stuffing out of monkey to save some weight

 

you defo need one at that sort of power,+everyone knows the car more or less now anyhow,so no need to hide the fact its a sleeper anymore but still its all good fun cant wait to see it in action again

started stripping it for a full winter rebuild basically,
to do list :-
680bhp engine with turbo, t6 managment etc
new breather system
ff6 sequential six speed box
9" rear diff
7 &1/2 ffd front diff, with sump, x/shafts etc
uprated propshaft and driveshafts
add a 2nd 10 bar fuel pump and a extra fuel line
electric power steering
full rollcage
paint engine bay
new exhaust system
new aim dash
maybe carbon fibre bonnet and roof
try and get more weight out the car
probs more as i go along

need to get the last few bits off and keep it rolling to go for the rollcage and engine bay painted, there next
