Escort mk.2 cosworth...bit more done...29/1/14
before i even started this project i needed somewhere to do it, , so i had to get a garage built at the side/back of the house,so that was built so the project coud be started.
a few pics of the build.
With wanting a cosworth engine going in the mk.2 i needed a lot of parts for the mk.2 and i found a saff cosworth,i got this one pretty cheap, just needs a bit of work on the engine, which would of been getting stripped down anyway so it made no difference if it needed work to it.
so, got the garage, got all the parts off the saff cossie, all was ready for the car to go in there.
i bought the car off someone who had done a lot of work to it,the normal panels replaced and everything all sorted so the car will be mint when all finished.
my plans for this car is to build it similar to a group 4 escort rally car,the ones with the arches, cage, big wheels etc....with cosworth power too, then take it on the track a few times.
i need to get a lot of bits to get the shell up to scratch so it can take the power,so have a few pennies put away to spend on the bits needed, just been too busy working to get them.
the shell then will be going in to my mate Neil ( 500 Neil off here) to get the arches,cage,4 link kit and most of the other parts fitted and the shell strengthened and then resprayed there too.
Just going to plod on with it when i have time and money to spend on it so don't expect it done next month.
will keep it updated over the next few months on the progress.
a few pics of the build.

you know it makes sense
i had to paint my mk1 as soon as i got it and there was only one colour for me which was signal yellow of course
very few cars can actually be in yellow with out looking the wrong side of camp but the mk1`s and 2`s pull it off a treat, just look at the cossie

Dave, my axle casing hubs and shafts will be for sale in the new year....just needs a diff and thats the rear sorted if your interested...
Reason for sale is that i want ap's on the back and this axle is only good for cossie sliding calipers.

2.8i is ok if you only going for a standard lump LOL...
3.09 ratio on 17's means you will hit 200mph though LOL.....
We have used these in the past and they break at stage 2 so greens and a t3....usually the half shaft's twist and few times then snap LOL...
WANK......
But yes since i have sorted my axle its lasted for 10 years and never broke
