Cheers Zoe, i did do the van too, that one took me about four years before i bought ma garage though. Passed you driving through Sudbury the other day but i was driving ma shit box so you would'nt have recignised me.

Bought the garage about 5 years ago for Ł500 second hand. Its prefab, built it in a day.

Doug out a pit too, only problem is if i want to use it i have to pump the water out first and i made it too
small to so hardly ever use it, but never mind, live and learn!

that looks top mate, bit hard to tell in the pics, but does the sierra bulkhead/firewall, go right up to the escort flat part, what the heater box bolts to?? or is it an escort lower bulkhead, and just te sierra floor/tunnel??

Im thinking its all sierra, so its easier to utilise the pedal box from sierra???


If you dont mind me asking, which way would you have done it differently??

 

The whole bulk head is Sierra, it goes right up to the flat bit that the heater fan bolts on,
had to cut it back a bit too- to get the wheel centres right, also keeping the engine further back gives me more room for
the intercooler/fans and rad. (all jus trial and error realy as i aint done this before)
did you say you were doing one? if so have ya started yet?

there Is a 4x4 van in Perf ford... This months, got a bright yellow RS500 on the front mate..... Doesnt give too much away, but worth a read all the same

 

dont matter if ya copy me mate, this conversion has been done loads of times before anyway, jus wanted to do it ma self rather than pay soneone else and i love a challenge anyway

 

is it white with a pink stripe? if so its been about for years (think it was in max power once) have to get the mag

Most of the conversions ive found wernt done by the owners them self, but paid someone else to do it.

The best, and most helpfull one is the blue mk 4 escort cab 4x4 cos in max p'. Thats the one i got up on the garage wall as a guide. Spoke to the bloke that built this (Melvin) he also built this.


He's built a jig that fits under any car. and positions the mounts for the cossie conversion.

Well done, did you build the ZVH in it too then? The van just turned up at the RS meets one day and on stand with Ipswich cars at shows in 2002, I'd never spoken to you to ask about it. I do like vans, be nice to do a mk6 project van.
You did? Would that have been the van that fixed our factory heaters? If not don't know what your 'shit box' is, we were busy and exhausted with moving last week so probably been oblivious to other road users anyway!

Maybe we'll see the KA at the meets when J brings the cossie up here (does your girlfriend take the KA to the meets? Does anyone still go to the Colchester RS meets?!)

Didn't go to one Colchester meet at all in 2003! But yep now the sun is out and nights are longer be good to get out again.
