Pre Ford Fair update
Having been away with work for a couple of months it was good to get home and work on the car again
Whilst i was away Trev kindly removed my cam cover and got it stove enameled black.
Replaced it with a new gasket and half moons.
Finally got round to fitting the adjustable TCAs and got it set up at the local tyre centre on their Laser Tracking Machine.
Front: 1.5 degrees neg camber
1mm toe in
Rear: 1.5 degrees neg camber
2mm toe in
Ford Fair update
Arrived at Silverstone and made my way to the Fast Ford stand. Even had my own big banner with the spec and some pics off the car
After a driver briefing went out on track for my first off three planned sessions only for it to go tits up half way round the first lap when the car lost all power and rolled to a halt at Abbey
So sat on the armco and watched the rest of the session before getting towed back to the stand.
After checking everything and swapping CPS and MAP sensors it still wouldn't run. Luckily for me Ryan (CarLooms UK) turned up and with the aid of Diva's Fluke meter found a break in the signal wire back to the ECU from the MAP sensor
Big thanks to the AG Motorsport guys for supplying the tools and soldering iron to fix it
Got it fixed just in time for me to miss my second session But Simon@FastFord kindly gave me a another track pass for the 12:20 session.
I knew i was in for an interesting session when i looked who was behind me in the queue
Dangerous......
....................followed by Porkie, Andrew Gallagher, JC's mate in the yellow GT2, MK and a couple of other 3 door track cars
Had fun out on the track and the handling was a big improvement over Donnington at Xmas, but there is still work to be done.
Still need to source some front billies to go with my new strut tops i bought off Ryan
And finally my nice pink wrist band

see you again soon.
With the track temp the road tyres went off once i started getting confident and upped my pace Looking at getting something a bit more track biased now.
Turn in could be better and the front kept pushing on from mid corner onwards Maybe put a bit more camber on for next time. Marco reckons to try about 2 degrees and a bit more toe in on the rear

Thats Ryan under the bonnet fixing the map sensor wiring and SiB under the car changing the Crank Position Sensor
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also collected some bits at Ford Fair
New front strut top mounts from Ryan
Escos airbox off Paul Ripley via Franco and Marco
Hopefully this will quieten the induction as well as providing a better/cooler air feed to the turbo
Also had another parcel off NUTS RuS The master cylinder and clevis pin i need to complete the hydraulic clutch conversion on my peddlle box. Just need to take the box out so Reyland can convert it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STOP PRESS
Today at 19:36 i washed the car First time since my magazine photoshoot back in March Even gelled my tyres I might even 'polish' it for National Day
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And finally couldn't resist putting my Ford Fair banner up in the garage Thanks to the Simon and Neil for that.

Also heat wrapped the turbo to intercooler boost pipe having seen quite a few other cars with it
Also put some heat reflective aluminium tape on the rear of the air box. Although i've not wanted to fit one i'm going to fabricate a turbo heat shield out of Cirrus Glllx (Aluminised steel sheet, with synthetic fibre insert)
