Rob Looking at those pictures I can offer you some buffty power, you obviously arent aware of.

1 That plastic tank just wont do -10bhp

2 Nasty black rubber water hoses -50bhp

3 Unbraded fuel line -20bhp

4 altenator needs a polish -30bhp

5 various alloy and steel brackets need powdercoating -40bhp

6 shonky engine block needs painting -100bhp

7 I cant see any stainless bolts screws or clips? -50bhp

Using my buffty calculator this means the lack of nice colours shinyness and cleanlyness is costing you 300BHP

You know

Well they wanted something to put in the staff cars section so that seemed as good a choice as any, but i think i might have made a mistake there as now they will want to actually see some progress from it other than me seeing how many cossie bits i can store on it

Ive won a few motorbike races, won the national nova shootout at the pod, and have helped a few people (including rob) in other contests, but TBH the thing that is of more interest to me is fast road cars, I like the concept of being able to build a car the way you want it and use it whenever you want, used to wind me up with my bike that i had to stick to rules on what i could do with it and i like the fact with a fast road car you can just jump in it whenever you want not just at events.

So the short answer (from a purely competition wins point of view) is VERY little, although thats still more than nothing i guess, LOL.

But in terms of has my knowledge achieved "anything worthwhile", i would say definately it has, its got me a job working for toyota GB and a job writing as a technical writer for total vauxhall magazine, both of which i enjoy at least some of the time

I want to do either sevens or migs at some point, but couldnt possibly do so now as i dont have the amount of free time i would need to attend the whole race calender

Was actually Rob i was comparing you too though, as it was him you were offering advice not me

Irrespestive of whats be done to this shell.....

Shell prep for rallying has a lot to do the class its going to be used in.

A group N shell can only have a very limited amount of modifications (more so of old Group N than current) and seam welding is about the extent of it in a lot of cases. Is a group N seam welded shell a "rally prepped shell"? Id say so.

With the advent of some of the more low(er) cost catagories / championships the modification dont even include this. I.e. the 205 challange didnt use to allow seam welding of the shell (not sure if it does yet). Is a 205 challange car a rally car - yes. Is its shell "rally prepared" ...... id say so even though with the exception of the cage feet mounts the shell is as peugeot made it.

Group A categorie has a lot more mods and with Open class cars you can mod / gusset / plate to your hearts content.

With regards to wether a shells rally prepped or not its all up to your own personal interpretation of it and what it was built with the intention of. Personally id say looking at it, this shell was prepped for motosport use, even if its not used that way.

Nice car mate. Keep up the good build

Jono

P.S id also say this is the classic case of how you need to be very peticular about the way you word things anywhere in the land of the interweb. What can be an innocent statement when spoken can easily be taken as an insult / derogatory when the vocal intonations and facial expressions etc arent pressent. I always find it quite interesting what a differnce they make. anyway nothing to do with this car......

thanks for the civil answer chip, altho i dont remeber you acctually saying "what have you won" that does clear things up with me that you dont acctually have to win anything to know a hell of a lot,

i am also of the persuasion that i just want to use my car for everythin, and the fiesta will be used for work too.

i just like driving, infact putting the cars together bores me a little as i have all the ideas just no patience, that sometimes reflects on my builds too,

if i come into the finances one day to build a garage i will do something propperly,

thats why this build is to correct the mistakes i made last time

hello matt

they are not the original standard pistons but they are a standard make one they are 86.5mm mahle pistons but have been machined to lower the compression i had the chioce of all the pistons but chose these as imo the mahle ones are one of the best pistons on the market

i doubt very very much i will be going there any time soon as the car is still in lots of bits and i am not going to have much if any time to work on it before i move to portsmouth in may next year

the evo would paste me off the line but i might be able to catch it over the mile but i dont know if they do that there

the gte will not be that fast 0-60 its once moving its a fast car
