mk4 fiesta....zetec turbo :)
good morning ladies and gentleman.... i have until recently been driving a fiesta 1400cc zetec, that was untill the engine did this...
spun the big end bearing shells and munched the motor, bent the crank etc...this is all guesswork as we havent stripped it.... excess crank pressure was forcing oil out the k&n plus loads of smoke.
so the decision was made to retire the fiesta from regular usage and to start building it a new engine...having been reading fast ford & perfomance ford for a good time now i figured i might as well go a bit mental on it, and using the guide on fiesta turbo decided on a zetec turbo.
to start with i wanted to sort out the body work...slight corrosion on drivers side rear arch needed investigating...
so off the wheel went, and the car went up..
while i was at it i figured i should bolt up on the new wheels i have for it...
still not to sure on these...i fancied 16's really...
and thats as far as i've got this week so far.
also i picked up the lump this week, a 70k old 2.0 zetec silvertop out of a mondeo auto...£100
also ordered a rover 820 turbo inlet manifold to use on it, just trying to source an adaptor plate for it, any ideas where to speak to??
hope to gain some knowledge through this post etc, and would like a few questions answered....
1. whats the difference internally from a silver top to a black top zetec- i see pistions advertised as black top only?
2.what exhaust manifold is best to use?
3.i have been offered a turbotechnics gt28 roller bearing turbo off a s14 200sx, will this mount on the manifold flange, and what power should it produce??
cheers boys and girls
