got agreed value for 3k through insurance so see what they say, it'll have to go through insurence nothing i can do hes a pensioner

they'll have to give me the money to buy another one and that a minimum of 2k in todays market

i got paid out Ł750 on my xr3i lol they valued that at Ł1200

 

If they class it as cat d they will pay you off and you get first refusual at buying it back..

 

hopeful they do what they did with the other car and just give me repair money not CAT at all

well the xr is off the road for the mo lol so need the rs for work

but if all goes to plan im gonna try make it as mint as i can get all the body work and welding done,

brand new standard rear lights all round,

get the interior out and steam cleaned,

cossie brakes front and back

change the engine bay, think im gonna have some chrome this time

 

i ordered them springs today,also my wheels are getting finished by barry. i got to do something need a decent looking ride i thought it will look a bit special and you dont see many. why you not text me back

still think u should leave it on steels get them painted silver drop it in its arch with a few bits here and there look smart

been a long time coming but i actually remembered to pick up my results and graphs from when i went on the intercooler testing day

with the pace cooler fitted it made 184bhp @ 5333 and 187lbf @ 4695

did 2 runs with that but didnt get any temp readings

then tried double capacity cooler and twin pass cooler

so after 6 runs things were fucking hot under under the bonnet

then it came time to fit the prototype single pass cooler

the car made 184.9bhp@5510 and 189lbf@4646

but this is the best bit

at the start of the test inlet temps were 108.26 in and 30.89 out
at 100 seconds on peak boost 118 in and 36 out
at 200 seconds on spool down 60 in and 33 out

on peak boost it cooled buy 86 degrees and did not effect boost levels as twin passes sometimes do

needless to say i was mighty impressed with my car considering what little work had been dont was was set up at grove garage to run 14psi with that fuel mod thing they do, only had zorst, -31, chip and filter (to my knowledge)

be nice to see what the cooler will do my power in un-heat socked conditions.

i have a graph its not very clear tho so dunno how it'll scann

as in the title i can get the intercoolers on my car currently made if anyones interested let me know via pm for prices

 

It would be very interesting to have inlet and outlet pressure.
I have not seen actual intercooler testing where inlet/outlet temperatures
and pressure was documented.
It would be great to see what the pressure loss was for a single pass vs. a dual pass intercooler.

didnt do that only had normal dyno runs but we made some pipe up to mont 2 thermo couples in for getTING inlet and out et temps

as far as i no hes the only person with testing results for the coolers hes selling

when we do go back we will no what to test for

ambient temp
inlet temp
outlet temp
inlet boost
outlet boost

as i mentioned tho the twin pass i tested did restrict boost slightly but because this is single pass there is minimal restriction

as the cars gonna get a paint full paint this means the 17's are going to need a paint so i sent the old shabby center nuts off to be polished............they have come back like chrome well impressed



dunno weather i want them black or silver, might get something on one of the spokes dunno lol

also got a replacement tinted light from ebay for 99p lol.............. touch

started collecting the new parts the engine bay changes i got planned

got a 90's spec rocker cover off Jano from oddkidd creation

shot blasted and primed it


then i gave it a coat of high heat enamel paint


polished cross over i had for ages.......started and never finished lol


will get it polished professionally before it goes on and make hole from water injection

more bits soon from auto specialists

 

mocked the wheels up today as i didnt have matching center caps before i do now tho so its all good

this is how they'll look but freshly painted





also got this oil pressure gauge to match my boost gauge

 

fitted a new airtec turbo cooler to the car Tuesday i'll have some pics soon

performance ford came and took some pics and did some testing

results were pretty good on aravrege lowered the temp of water goin into the rad by 20oC

keep an eye out in next months mag, i'll prob use the pics in here lol
