There is also one interesting FSO- Polonez with Lancia Stratos engine . It was built when polish rally driver - Anadrzej Jaroszewicz - crashed his Lancia, but the engine was in good condition after that.
AFAIK, the Strato-Polonez was very shity to drive...

I own 2 examples of the successor to the Polonez -- The Caro!! Mine have a french engine in them -the 1.9 diesel peugeot engine.
I bought my last one just a couple of months ago. It's a '97 P plate ,in good nick and I paid just £185 for it !! What sort of Ford could you buy for that ?? My latest one is going to get seriously modified, when I can afford it.
I'm thinking Audi / VW V6 Tdi 180 engine,to start with !! Be nice to engineer the quattro drivetrain in there as well ! Could get VERY expensive though.

Whever was FSO's "development centre" which you could call FSO Motorsport. This were the people who run works rallycars for FSO.
