its not modified yet, but heres a few pics of my mk5 facelift diesel escort van. just mopped it as it had sign writing on, then washed and waxed for that mirror finish!

got the odd dent and little rust here and there but its never been welded and pulls like a train. possibly be doing an rs2000 conversion in the future but for now its serving me well enough to get me to and from the golf course

Been flicking through the old pics of the modded vans, I used to have a mk4 van when I was 17 (with a one piece back door) and I'd love a mk3 or 4 van again. It would have to have a proper fast engine not the 1.3 that I had!

I'd be tempted to keep it as it is. Fix those minor faults, rust-proof it and put on some time appropriate livery. Perhaps a local firm from the 90's that's long since gone. Or invent something.

Add a few creature comforts to the inside (lots of sound proofing) and some bigger steels (Mk1 Mondeo?) keeping the hubcaps.

Engine-wise, why follow the crowd. If you have to change the engine, be different perhaps a hi-economy turbo diesel - Duratorq HDi/TDC
