I have decided that i'm going to fit the T56 6 speed sometime next yr
it's camero/firebird box very simalr ratios to the normal cossie T5
the only problem that the box is a little heaver than the normal t5
so it will but extra weight on the car but i'm not that botherd because it is a rd car at the end of the day and i will have a 6th gear for cruising
6th gear is 0.62 that means with 235/40-17" and 3.64 rear diff ratio it will be 32.18 mph per 1000 rpm
so at 3,000 rpm in 6th i will be doing 96.46 mph, good in it

cheers peeps
Pete
there was times when i thought to myself fix it and fook it off
most of it was trail and error , if the internet was about in those days i don't think i would have had much problem in sorting it but when it's trail and error it's costly and a pain in the ass

I bought mine ages ago form Steve Scott @ A1 rallysport i have had it 4/5yrs it rated @ 450 ft lbs of torque ( not that i'll ever have that torque or power )
but this T56 ( Camero/Firebird) is the only one which is close to the original T5 cosworth gearing ...
the rest are pretty long in the gears so you would have to change the rear diff ratio to a 3.9
i don't think Steve has got another because he wanted this one back i said no ..lol
you would be better of geting them from the usa ,
the viper t56 is one of the strongest , its rated @ 550 ft lbs of torque
and it has a bigger main shaft you would also need 3.9 rear diff ratio aswell because these are also long in the gears
god all this free info i bet most of you are glad the net is about

cheers lads
thanks for kind words
I had it yrs and been to hell and back but still enjoy it on the road and on the track
cars were made to drive and enjoy them and thats what i do
basically built for both purposes track and road but not extream on either , you can't have both but i've settled for what i think is on the limits for being a road car
it still has it's everyday comforts and drivers very good and well behaved on the road
cheers Marco
