Here are the allowable sizes:
Max siggy physical Size: = 550 x 150
Max siggy Disk size: = 25000bytes (25k)
Max Avatar size: = 105 x 105
Max Avatar Disk size: = 5000bytes (5K)

The only exception to this rule is banner traders are allowed 100K signatures images

from the sticky at the top of the page
