Supercharged Mondeo Zetec
i got the focus 2.0L jackson racing supercharger kit (M45 Eaton supercharger) from www.jacksonracing.com in USA. the car is a mondeo mk1 2.0 zetec (Ghia).
i cant get it remapped/dynoed for 3 weeks so i dont wanna drive it till then. i drove it home on minimum throttle and it runs very well indeed, the slight misfire it had on low revs (before all this was done) is now cured.
this is the first J.R.S.C. ever fitted to a silvertop zetec as far as we know.
because the kit is designed for a focus blacktop zetec, there was alot of differences. it had to have alot of focus bits from the breakers, such as fuel rail, throttle body, fuel rail wiring loom, IAC valve, throttle cable, fuel pressure regulator...
belt length and layout has been done differently to make it fit.
i've got a 65mm throttle body coming in the post so that will be fitted on there soon, and when i get that i'll have a shiney bit of pipe made for between the throttle body and the MAF.
its now got a 75mm Pro Flow MAF which is calibrated for the 30lb ford racing injectors we just fitted.
other power mods the car already had was blitz filter, stage 2 Cams, 4-2-1 manifold, decat, twin exit powerflow exhaust system, unichip, and nitrous which has to be re-connected since the JRSC has been done.
it had to have a smaller pulley so the supercharger would actually fit, so the boost will be 7PSI now (as standard from the kit its 4PSI)
it was installed at www.powerandperformance.co.uk near norwich in UK.
heres pics of the kit set up on a dummy engine to get it al figured out:
and pics of the finished project:
next mods will be water injection, uprated clutch and lightened flywheel, and probably an LSD.

the supercharger in standard form gives it about 45bhp but add on another 15bhp for the higher boost i will be running, and mine will be working better than normal cos of the other mods.
and yep its makes a fair bit of noise on lowish revs so i cant wait to wind it right up!
Mark from P&P is pretty cool

Looks wicked mate, what sort of power are you hoping to achieve once everything is set and mapped?
Don'y know if this sounds stupid to you but i'm sure i've seen supercharger's run at much higher boost, i.e Up to about 22psi?
Any more pics of the rest of the car mate?

this supercharger can go up to about 15psi, its not a massive unit. i wouldnt go that high anyway because it would mean upgrading the internals.
should be around about 200 - 210bhp plus nitrous (which can increase with water injection, bigger crank pulley etc)
heres more pics of the whole car, and full details of the car at www.mondeost.com (needs updating on that site i know lol!)

Do you ever get to race the same people, like in both cars, one day it'll be abit slow then the next you'll can 'em with a supercharger!
Bet they won't know whats going on!

Hey hey percy! Remember be from the mondeo diesel forums?! I had the Fiesta with the Mondeo TDI in it, engine all polished up to mirror finish etc? I left the forum when they started deleting my posts, then told me I was meant to be paying to be a member!
This supercharger conversion looks great, and that's good power from 7psi I like the car too, looks good Do you have any more pics of the conversion in more detail? My dad is contemplating supercharging his already high spec 2.0 Zetec Caterham, so any pics showing the installation of the charger to the engine would be good to see what's what

hi heeman, hows the TD going, have you done much more to the engine? i done a FMIC on my TD and its made it MUCH better. am looking into hybrid turbo for it and some other stuff.
theres more detailed pics of the supercharger here, is your dads a silvertop or blacktop, cos its much easier to do it on a blacktop.
http://forums.turbosport.co.uk/bbs/s...t=87350&page=1
p.s. meg is free, but the pay-site bit is for off topic now.

The TDI is dead sadly. A metal coolant pipe fractured on the way down to Fiesta In The Park 2004, a VERY hot day. It ran bone dry for at least 50 miles at about 85mph average. I had no idea as I was only being shown air temp, not water temp obviously It got gradually worse and worse, with intense coolant heating and pressurisation till it let go on the way to a drag meeting in York in August last year
I replaced it with this though!
I'm not sure which my dad's is actually. It's a Paul Dunnell engine, I don't know if he only works with black or silver top by any chance? Thanks for the link, he was interested from what I told him last night

Ah cool. I would've liked to play around in the diesel game for a bit longer, but my priorities changed. It was going to start costing a lot to climb past 150bhp with the TDI, and I've landed with 200bhp straight off with the ZT, with plenty more possible if I want it. Couldn't complain really!
