Oooh, like a pear!

I've seen Jag x-type sills as bad if not worse than that. Suppose nowadays we get used to cars not going rotten too quickly. I remember as a kid cars being welded up at their first MOT's.

I used to know a lad who worked at a bodyshop in a main dealer and he said he did loads.

I dont think the newer fords are that bad for rust now. The mk6 fiestas and mk3 mondys seem ok for rust.

Being a panel beater I've seen many crusty jap cars. Mazda are the worst and 90's/early 2000's nissans aren't much better

Does the Mazda 6 not have Mondeo underpinnings like the equally rotten X-Type? or is it just engines and components that they share?

Have seen some horrendous rust on a couple of Evo's now, and some Subaru's less then half the age of most cosies.

My MK RS2000 had warranted Ford receipts in it's history for rear arch repairs within the first 2 years

New Dacia's are being returned to main dealers for rust already on the roof and tailgates - at less than 12 months old - Renault are rejecting claims.

Jap stuff is terrible for rusting, one reason I sold my evo 8 as was worried about the tin worm underneath. Has totally put me off jap stuff to be honest.
