Yeah, electric. Three motors (2 front, one rear), car weighs more than a petrol rallycross Supercar, but in comparison starts the performance off the line looked pretty much identical.
The British Rallycross Championship is permitting electric cars to run in the Supercar class this year: budget permitting there should be two electric cars in the mix.

It sure cannot be the same thing. The noise, the smell enz, it's al part of it.
When I i'm driving the Sapphire Cosworth I love the smell of petrol/gasoline. Still mis the good old days of RON 102. No longer available...
Or am I overreacting and is it not all that bad?

Yes and no.
The electric car was fast and, as said above, they did a couple of launch comparisons and it was neck-and-neck with the petrol Supercar. In the hands of the more capable drivers it was as entertaining on track as a current Supercar, so I think the racing will be as fast and spectacular as it is now...
...but I can't deny that the sound (and to a lesser extent the smell) of petrol Supercars is part of the appeal. I didn't find the electric "whine" as annoying as I thought I would, but I can't see it ever being as appealing as the thunder of ALS!

There was also a Monaro V8 Supercar in the mix that was very quick and finished second.

John Cross was quick as well, but he never managed to leave the line. The Super Retro class has been great this year though, really good entry numbers and some close racing. Love Sterkens car as well, always looks so well presented.
