Angry Italian in a CRX at the 'ring...

Always 2 sides to this sort of thing, yes it's a race track but it's NOT a track day.
Clue is in the name Touristenfarhten (Tourist drives) you get fast cars, fast bikes, slow cars, slow bikes, coaches, motorhomes, vans ALL sorts.
German road laws apply to the track and vehicles should keep to the right, it's common courtesy/decency to move to the right for slower vehicles as per 'track day' rules.
I can't talk really,as a few years ago got a stress on when a Toyota Corrolla wouldn't get out of the way.

Always difficult when your in the zone. Can easily get annoyed on a track day or ring weekend when you feel your being held up. End of the day the circuits open to everyone at the ring on TF days and he needed to chill out as thats when he takes chances and causes accidents.

fair play to him he was on a flyer.to get that frustrated he was obviously going for a pb.i get a bit commited to lap times on track day and i get worked up by some people but not this bad lol.

To me it sounded like "hurry the f##k up as I need to complete my f##king lap so I can have my f##king siesta" ?
Although don't quote me on that as I'm probably wrong.
Best bit of the video was when the RS Focus stood on the throttle and pulled away rather quickly.
But all credit to the CRX driver, he did well, I wish I could say I was sat behind him in my ST170 doing the same but alas no lol.

I couldnt be bothered watching it to the end he hasn't got a clue how to drive just watch what he is doing with his legs and hands he is on the way to his own accident- he was so close to rear ending the white TT at the start. Pretty stupid on a tourist day to be dicking around like that its a crash waiting to happen.
Its fools like this that put me off going back to the Ring on a tourist day.

A couple of times I thought it was going to end in tears but surely under the circumstances that is still a quick time for the power.
Wouldn't of been comfortable being his passenger though
Good watch though

Yes he was driving aggressive but the idiots should have moved over, when i had a mk1 clio i done a few track days with MLR i would slaughter the evos in the corners and then come out of the corner hoping they would move over, but no they would just use 1000bhp and no talent to pull away, only to slow me up again at the next corner.

He was going some thats for sure, but i drive very differently.
Hes time was very good and there is now way i would have got that round as fast, simply as im to much of a pussy and i treat my cars too sentimentally to ever drive them that aggressively, but much like Sinbads question, do the real 'ring dooers' think that if he had gone a little smoother and slower in he could have got a better time?

He may have gained 'a few' seconds as he wasn't held up until the last section on the track, it was a good time regardless but he was fooking dangerous being so close to the bikes.
I'll see if I can find some similar (safer?) laps..

This was on a private track day not TF.
Nige's son Matt, 328i modded, only his 14th lap driving but he's been going to the 'ring years with his family, done 800laps as passenger, learnt well... low 8mins! Also on private track day.

The driver was a little out of order there.... you can't arrive on a tourist day and expect to treat it like a track day. To be honest, it's guys like that that scare me the most on a touristenfahrten day. And as a bit of a background for those of you who haven't been, there is no kind of pre-track talk/guidance/instruction prior to entering the circuit so a lot of people probably don't even know trackday etiquette.....
Personally when I'm on a lap and come anywhere within 100m of a motorcycle, ill happily drop ten seconds back and merely deduct it from my overall lap time. One thing I wouldn't dream of doing is hustle them like that to get out of the way. A laptime isn't worth another mans limb or life.
Shame really, as the guy could obviously pedal, which leads me to strongly believe he really should have known better.

I never time my laps and the only way forward on the Ring is to watch your mirrors for the faster GT3's etc. and if you're quicker i always wait with overtaking till they signal or go to the right, it's almost impossible to go for a quick lap time these days
The only quick free lap i've done was in the passenger seat with Phil Allanby in his Scooby, this was after a closure and we got on track 1st, only car that overtook us was a GT3 and i think that was low 8min lap
