Default Help me with police charge calc's

hey chaps, well I have managed to get myself arrested again in the cossie
and am just working on some distance / speed / time calculations to get off the bogus charge. (long story but think I have a good case)
Part of the evidence (police side) is a member of the public who said they witnessed me travelling at over 100 km/h after starting from standstill in 127 meters (which I have measured with meter wheel). so knowing my fairly standard saff is capable of 0-100 in 6.5ish seconds can any one tell me how many meters I would cover in doing a 0-100 sprint in 6.5 seconds (worst case scenario...) I get the feeling it would be more than 127 meters.

Basic part of the case and can pad it out if you need more detail.
Thanks in adavance
Kev

I had to do this when I got convicted for dangerous driving, it's a hard call as at the time I didn't know my rights, but this is true ^^^^^^^ its down to them to prove your speed as I got told it takes 2 qualified traffic officers to be able to estimate your speed without a calibrated speed trap,

Very hard to work out speed from a stand still as time over distance will change as you speed up

i got reported by a member of public for drifiting a roundabout about 13 yrs ago. the letter the police sent was that they wanted to speak to the driver on an "ALLEGED" offense of dangerous driving. i just kept replying asking for photo evidence. letters went back and forth but i just kept asking for photo evidence to prove driver as i mate had also driven car that day, and because there was no proof it went away and never heard again.

I'd have thought this case would get thrown out with no substantial evidence! A member of the public saying you were speeding? Lmao!

The police may be trying to trick you into confession. If it were me (after all the shit I've been through) would tell them nothing and let it go to court.

I bet the "witness" won't turn up anyway. Especially with there calibrated speed gun!

The OP is listed as in new zealand. Laws might be totally different there and "witness evidence" may have a higher level of credibility in law than it does here.

If you accelerate at a constant rate (which you wont) it will be about 90m

0-100 means an average of 50kmh

50kmh = 13.9 m/s

13.9per second x 6.5seconds = 90.2m

cheers for the comments guys. their is more to the story but a member of the public said she saw me do the above, which is as you say is hard to prove. BUT further down the road two police officers were up someones drive in an unmarked car on a unrelated matter and saw me drive past. Got chased then pulled up, they also have no PROOF of my speed and basing an alleged speed on sound as they where talking to me the witness who had chased after me stopped to tell the police she also saw me speeding... damit.. so going to court soon have some good arguments for them so going to depend on the judge on the day id say. Ill update after the court date.. 23rd sept. Kev

as long as they dont have any evidence that you were actually speeding , they cant do nothing . just say my cars exhaust was blowing and was a lil loud but wasnt going over the speed limit.. say if i was speeding how did you catch me up so fast..oh and say the witness is some hater that you had a argument with ages ago lol
