Default 97 Scorpio 24v Saloon

Hi all
Here is my new project.
Its a 97 24v saloon, that i brought on saturday from kent where it has lived all its life. It was supplied as new by Haynes Ford in kent and serviced by them every 2,000 miles. It has now done only 24,213 miles. It also came with the original dealer plates and scorpio floor matts. There is a problem with the enigne. it taps alot when left on idel and the oil light comes on but it drove us back the 144 miles no problems at all . It was taxed until end of july and mot'd until november and i got it for 250 .
Hope the pctures are ok. Here i havnt done anything to it but i will get the engine sorted first then little jobs. Because of its originality i want to keep it standard, but i would like a cosworth badge and maybe the facelift front lights, back lights, grill and front bumper but not sure yet.
Hope you like it.
Dan

i like 'em, prefare the mk3 but these slowly growing on me - I guess they are getting thin on the ground sooner or later, big, comfy, cheap to obtain but expensive to repair/maintain for parts etc.

There is scorpio.co.uk or something which is a dedicated owners forum with a decent bit of info on there if you get ant trouble, from what I have heard the engine loom can get cooked over time.

Cheers mate i have always wanted a 24v for myself but until now only hadd my dads one. The interior is lovley condition but the low miles might have helped I use Mer leather cleaner on them too.

Yeah mate very comfy, even for the oldest ones they all seem to still be very smooth, a nice car to own.

Low miles have done it, just a massive factor (and of course, the frequent leather treatment!), that car really is a score.

Have fun.

IMO the 94 on Scorpio looks no worse than the Insignia!
