I do love a good lefty !

Fitted one of my Xmas goodies and been for a good ride today , race face atlas bar 725mm , made a hell of a difference from the original 685mm bar

Like the leftys, much adjustment on them?

What if you get a puncture? Heard people say they are an arse to get off. However you don't have to take the wheel off due to 1 stantion lol.

Quality feel on wider bars, running 710mm at the moment. Would like to change to wider but unsure yet for my style of riding and if it will make that more of a difference.

Just nearing an end to another ride. Still a long way to go for 500km this week.

Nearly 80 miles on a mountain bike! No wonder you was fucked Phil!

My next aim is to improve the distance I travel. Most I've done recently is 26 miles but I'm trying to keep my average speed up as my aim is to improve my fitness as well as enjoy being out and about on the bike. Been out of it far too long and I certainly can tell I'm not as fit as I used to be. A job behind a desk doesn't help.

I've not managed to get back out on mine since 1st week in December!

Not much adjustment but then again it,s not a downhill bike. They do lockout for road use though.Everyone that see,s it presumes the forks are unsafe but I've, read that only a handful have ever failed and they are made of titanium .As for the wheel removal, never had an issue.

Looking at brake upgrades now, wanna replace the hydraulic brake system that's currently on it, it's been on off from new.
I want something that's gonna work in all weathers without the need for constant adjustment.
A pre bleed system would be ideal, any recommendations?
Don't really wanna spend over Ł200.

Look on Chainreactioncycles for some deals.

Can spec you X0 brakes for Ł200 then some rotors for around Ł35.

Or second hand Hope Mini's on ebay for Ł150 (can't link at the moment) they come with floating rotors aswell

Nice intense

Like the 456 steel.

When you get the hopes try and use sintered Hope pads, far better than aftermarket imo.

Should have got some Avid's, never come across a set of Hope's that have worked for long. Granted, they're powerful if they work, but reliability is poor.

Mate at work runs them and he loves them, he's up delemere or Wrexham every weekend. I'll give them a try.

Mono Mini's front and rear, multiple thousands of miles over an 8 year period and only just rebuilt the front lever with new seals

So now you have come across a set

The MOST reliable thing i've ever owned

Also found my old hope m4s to be probably the best brake I've used
Until shimano saints came about. Both are rediculously powerful and are pretty much fit and forget as far as I was concerned!

I use the V2's on my C456, stop me on a penny.

Need bleeding now after 5k of riding all weathers, road, off road. Used Hope Sintered pads for 3k miles and used cheap ones for 400 miles.

Is your mate riding at Llandegla? If so join him, quality place to ride.

Dunno, I'll ask tomorrow.
I was into mountain biking in my younger years, still got my claud butler tasmin from 1995-1996 at my mum and dad's, think I might restore it once I've done bits to the current bike, fancy a retro restoration, I've got a full sticker set somewhere, just requires the frame to be repolished. I've always used my bike daily doing a minimum of 5 miles a day, upto 30 miles on road. But now I've started spending on it I'd like to do some different routes off road. I've always struggled with the original brake set up while on the coyote frame, so it's well over due a upgrade.

Not for a while but I'm up for a trip out.
I have to bike everyday with my love for food. I eat s**t so cycling keeps the weight off for me.
I enjoy the fresh air, if I'm not out on my bike I'm working on cars.

Sundays are fine.

Can get atleast 4 to join us for a black run @degla, good trail for all. Marin is to much XC for most.

You'd beat me on the downhill thats for sure haha

True.

The uplift in North Wales looks good (begins with A unsure of name?)

Just a shame bottle kicks in.

Best part of Delga black is the last jumps on B line before the road crossing. Great hitting proper speed over there.

Whats Delamere like Phil?
I am off next week so as long as the white stuff stays away it could be a week of dirty pedal punishment around North Wales and the North West.

Just weighing up options and where we can get digs at the mo,
Got Digs in Scarboro for Dalby, also Llandudno for abit of a tour round the Orme and peep into the valley, just waiting to hear back about places in Betsy-Coed and just outside Dumfries, reeling in favours
