Another member for the passion bmw crew.
Having had RS's for the last decade I sold my Escort Cosworth last month with the view of finding a nice new generation diesel.
I found it a really tough decision to make between a 5 series and 3 series but in the end I bought this.
330d M Sport. Just picked it up
Hope you guys like.

Cheers mate. It's called sparkling grey metallic and it really does do just that in the sun.

Very nice Nick, this is what was going to replace mine, think I will keep mine and replace the Mrs with one like yours or a 530d M Sport... how does the performance compare? is it mapped yet? what sort of MPG are you getting?

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
I bought this about 7 months ago, 2.0d obviously not fast but great on fuel, cheap road tax and plenty of room for the hairy thing.

If the right Escos come up I would buy it to go along side the Bm. I'll never be completely out of the game when it comes to Fords. They are like a drug!

Doing well cheers mate, car is going great at the moment so fingers crossed that continues
I do like that car bud, nice purchase, they do everything so well, fast enough, handle well, loads of toys, reliable... I need one in my life but trying to prize the grip of the Mrs and her motor is a hard task. You not thought about getting a cheaper Escos and having a play? or even a Sierra Cosworth RWD and put some power into it?

To be honest Mark I'm not worried about the money side of things. It's the having a spoilt brat in the garage that only comes out in the sun shine and regularly throws wobblers if not given the attention it wants that wears a little thin with me.
The only Ford I would have now would be an Escos, I'm not actively looking for one but if the right one come up I could be tempted to have a flutter again.
Get your Mrs to have a drive in a Bm, I find it makes the transition a little smoother to bring them round!
Stunning car there Steve. You are a lucky chap!

I am the same as you, only got eyes for the Escos, maybe stretch to a wailtail sierra cosworth but at the price they are now I wouldnt bother.
Did you find it hard work finding a diesel BM with the spec you wanted? I find the 320d etc are all basic spec

Not really to be honest. Most I come across had pro nav with the idrive. My only real criteria was as many toys as poss but black leather was a must. I probably paid Ł5-800 to much for mine really as all the tyres were pretty shagged and it needed a few bits immediately. Silly stuff that I didn't notice when I viewed originally. I'm terrible really, if its what I want I have to have it regardless.

Tobe fair to you Nick, I am the same, I can deal with putting a few things right for the right spec. Seats have to be black leather for in a BMW. And as stated, as many toys as possible.
Do you have the hi fi upgrade? We have Harmon Kardon in our E46 and alot of people slate it, but to be honest, its lovely. Only downside is it rattles anything you put in the door cards and sounds like the speakers are shot, remove the stuff and it goes back to a nice clear sound with plenty of bass
What is the nav like on the E90? I had a 08 plate 330i M Sport convertible with all the toys and I could onlt get the nav to work in bird eye view which was a little annoying... would also only search for the first part of the post code
