Yup they will also easy take pigeon and magpie.. Which is my intention this year as my land is getting more of them so I'll happily let pip keep the numbers down lol.

I will mate... It takes the bird ages to kill once it's locked on.. Basically they eat it alive...I don't like it that way so when the bird catches I always despatch then let the bird eat it.

Hey Matt i've had birds all my life pigeons and hawks. These are a few of my birds diving i get the pere quite regular but they often leave empty handed. I get them to fly high and they wait on like a pere then i signal them and they dive full vertical wings completely shut. Not the best quality view full screen.

bit off topic but Harris hawk related,
i worked at a Ford breakers years ago and the upper part of the building with no windows was riddled with pidgeons, we tried culling them with rifles etc but nothing worked, bred like mad and were horrid,
anyway the bosses "neighbour" lived on a farm 1/2 mile from him that was say 30 miles from our breakers, and he lost his Harris hawk, anyway we had one turn up and live off the flying rats and after 3 days had them all leave or die
Trevor rang his neighbour and described the bird that was perched on the rooftop, he came down and low and behold this Hawk was his! whats the chances of that, he said maby the bird followd Trevors range rover to work and stayed for lunch!
i have massive respect for these birds and anyone who owns and keeps them

That's more than likely true mate about following the car.... Harris hawks are the only species of BOP that follow on... As soon as I get mine out he goes in the trees.... Then I just walk off and he follows me waiting for me
To flush for him... Harris hawks are brilliant there my favourite of all time.

As a falconer and ill represent most falconers... We always go straight in and despatch the quarry... Nature is totally different as the quarry as to be eaten alive.
