My Ford Orion 1.6i Ghia
Hello everyone,
I have been signed up to passionford a few months now (i don't know why i didnt sign up sooner as i have only ever owned ford's).
anyway i managed to take some pictures to show you my Orion which i bought in november 2011 with faded paintwork,
its completely standard and original apart from audio, spoiler and a CAT1 alarm (first thing i did to help keep scumbags away)
Not sure whether to modify it slightly or keep it in standard form cause of being original (1 previous owner who was 80 years old and it only has 46K miles and rust free) and thinking about getting sapphire cosworth but might not be until next year unless one comes up.
if i were to modify it my plan would to do these:
Panel air filter/ashley compitition exhaust/manifold
Ported/polished head
Kent cam kit
lowered 40mm (25mm preferred if i can find some)
and 4x4 sharktooth cossie alloys
Anyway here is the pics, all comments welcome.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
What a lovely car mate, nice find indeed.
I would suggest if you were to modify it, keep all the standard parts to replace if ever you were to sell it.
Standard is very sought after nowadays

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Lovely looking car. My first car was an '89 Orion 1.6i Ghia. Was a great car. It cost me a couple of grand in repairs. Did 2 gearboxes, welding and a few other bits. It was worth it though. Went well, and I could fit a few mates in it.

Lovely looking car, my first car was an Orion 1.6 Injection and was also a 1 owner car with 43k on the clock with no rust. I was in the same situaton as you when I first bought it as I didn't want to modify it and take away the originality. Then it ended up looking like this..
Spent alot of cash on the car in the 9 years I owned it but given the chance I'd do it again in a heartbeat, I'd say go for the mod's. I particularly recommend going for the 4x4 wheels as they look spot on fitted to an Orion but then I am slightly biased

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Was this on eBay last year?
If it's the same one I was bidding on it, the guy who was selling it didn't wanna end auction early.
Thought fair enough, then it just disappeared.
Not bitter about it lol
Looks very nice, if you wanna sell it anytime soon pm me.

Awesome cars, that is the double of my old one, apart from mine was a g plate!
I think a few choice mods wouldn't hurt but it is nice to see a stock one too!
Loved mine, went well and had it slammed on white comps

Thanks for the comments guys,

I was looking at your one (If it was you selling it on pistionheads Last year) when i was looking to buy one but coudn't afford anything like that at the time, I found a webpage on your orion and i took a liking to that straight away, link is below, note the similarities in mods, i also thought about turning it into turbo powered but i will really lose it originallity.

Looks a gem that pal. I'd say go for the mods, its not like your adding some wild lairy bodykit and garish paint, its all subtle and the mechanical mods are either hidden or reversible. IMO the only way to tackle an Orion is OEM+, lowered slightly with a nice pipe and clean as possible
