Default new daily 330d m sport touring, msd intercooler, x5 wheels

as ive got a little one on the way i thought it would be best to get a sensible cheap to run daily. this is as sensible as im willing to go. it the 204bhp version with a 6 speed box. ive gotta say it doesnt go to bad & pretty good on fuel too ill probably look at getting a msd remap later in the year. im really liking the sound of their 280+bhp remap/intercooler package

Looks nice, my mate has a salon, same age and colour, he looked into the 280 bhp package, apparently it makes them eat clutches and the gearbox don't last long at all at that power?
Nice car though

been looking at one of these today, its a 54 plate done 78k, fsh, recently at 73k had the turbo replaced, also loads of bushes done and swirl flaps removed, but only thing that concerns me is it's got some bubbles of rust around the rear arches....

are they common for this?

with the manual gearbox its best to "limit" it to about 250 BHP and 450 Torqs !!!!

what you should try to get you tuner of choice to do is give you a very wide flat torque band, so it pulls like a train throughout the rev range..... this normally means standard m3's cant keep up between 30 and 120!

Have fun!

Our old 330D was running 297bhp and 470lb/ft for years, being abused and doing ring trips, all on a std clutch, std flywheel, and std gearbox without any failures whatsoever, it all comes down to how you drive imo.

nice daily, looking to get a 330d for the misses soon, just got to get rid of the 206 first.

rust bubbles on arches are common, seen loads with it around arches.

Not a fan of silver cars, but Bm estates look brilliant in silver!

My mate has a black one, and they do go well for diesel estates!

problems getting it running which enentually ended up in the love being lost & left outside for a few years whilst i fucked about with other cossys. i was gonna break it after kicking it in last year but the missus didnt want me to so its just been sat in limbo. think i might finally be starting to get a little interest in it again

153k isnt high miles for one of these. plenty of them out there with 250k on them. dong know about smoothing out the power but deffo seems to have more pull.

Hi.
Nice mods you installed, defently needed the swirl flap mod
Is that egr delete pibe working on the 204 model without engine failcode?
Did you get that egr delete kit fra M delveopment?
I really like your doing the intercooler upgrade BEFORE remap, that i'm sure will run it safe and good. I was thinking about the same setup, but with 3" turbo stainless exhaust so i'll follow to see the result.

I'm currently looking at Msport 320d manual tourers, so many with rusty arches, bad paint etc, maybe I'll have to look at the 330d man tourer too

My egr delete was from allard. The de cat was eco tune & the intercooler was msd. I was going to do a 3" exhaust myself but was told by james at msd that there wouldnt be much gain so i stuck with the original twin pipe system. My car isnt euro4 so i didnt get a light for the egr but my mates was euro4 & the light came on. All sorted with the mapping though

They are the same as your mates (132's) but painted titan silver. Just fitted the front coilovers. Need to shorten the drop links then fit the rears
