2009 Electric White Facelift ST (15/11/12 Engine Bufty)
Well after a brilliant almost 5 year ownership of my MK1 Focus, I wanted to step it up. Was thinking of coming away from the marque and going for a diesel BMW 3 series but boy am I glad I stayed loyal to the blue oval! My new car is a 2009 Electric White ST3 with Nav and Sunroof.
At the moment only mods are black wheels, red calipers, DRL's, Eibachs and Code Red Stage 2 running 269.5bhp. Coming from a non turbo 4cyl to a mapped turbo 5cyl has really been a step up; the ST feels like an animal! Future plans are to keep it fairly simple (famous last words) but I have already purchased an Airtec Gen 3 Intercooler in black and a Mongoose Cat-Back system which will be going on when I get time. After that I will be looking at a DS CAIS and possibly in the future going sports cat and downpipe and stage 3 but that's it. Just enjoying it as it is right now! Some pics after its first wash. Had it for exactly a week now.
Pics to follow when they work!!

It isn't fitted yet mate, I can show you pics of it if you like as it is? Essentially it is just a middle section with a flexi and a rear box with choice of tailpipes. Most systems are designed like this.

looks good chap but electric white? i thought it would be like really really bright white but it almost looks like it has a hint of blue in it?
Thought it might have been the lighting in the pics but ive compared it to the white of the bricks and the door/posts

No idea what the DRL's are Liam, were on the car when I bought it.

I am leaning more towards a closed system though rather than open cone.

If you go on the focus STOC website, you'll see everyone BUMS dreamscience, and in my opinion, their induction kits are horrendously overpriced, and their customer service is pretty poor. I'm not joking, the fit is utterly terrible of the induction kits. It pulls the rubber hose from turbo to top pipe forward so it rubs on a cam cover bolt, pull the top pipe back so the hose clears this bolt and the top pipe rubs on the strut brace. The brackets bend and crack, no matter how much you adjust the lower pipe, it will rub on either the bracket that holds the main live feed that goes from the battery to starter motor, the cable itself or the bottom radiator hose.
They do make a good noise on hard throttle, but the rest of the time they make a high pitched whistling noise that drives you mad. Honestly mate, dont waste your cash! And if you really do want to, I've got one in the shed that I'd love to shift
The K&N kit uses the standard top pipe so fit of that is spot on and the lower pipe routes down the same was as the DS kit, but fits much better without being close to touching anything. They are a lot quieter than the DS kit, but no whistling which is nice. Not to mention half the price too! Some people notice a bit of a flat spot with it fitted, but all you need to do is take the trumpet out of the standard airbox and fit it into the new K&N box.
The Autospecialists kit is supposed to be the best closed induction kit, they can catch on the radiator fan housing so might require a bit of trimming.
All this is from my own non biased experience of induction kits mate so hope it help you make your mind up a bit.

Looks nice mate,
i painted one the other week at work what a job lol,
but its not called electric white mate i am sure its ice white fella
still it is a nice colour
and even better when the sun gets on it if we ever get any more this year lol

I think I will also get one of those Powerflex torque mount bushes as I here the gear changes become a lot more slick with less play with one of them. Will update as it all happens. Car will be going to SCC to get this little lot fitted.

As a daily, if you can live with the mpg, they are absolutely spot on!
As a guide going off the trip comp (which is actually wrong most of the time as I calculate a variation of 5-10% from my mathematical workings), I use the North Circular from Great Cambridge Roundabout all the way up to Park Royal (just before Hanger Lane) and if it is flowing smoothly it does 26mpg.
Last couple of weeks someone let a few morons out of a nearby loony house and caused untold misery to thousands (Henly's Corner lights packed up and someone broke down in Chingford causing MASSIVE tailbacks of traffic doing 3-5mph and yesterday someone managed to flip a van and bring downa lampost and blocked 2 lanes of Henly's Corner). It has gone down as little as 19mpg. Stop start traffic usually sees about 22mpg.

Looks's nice mate! The DRL's look spot on tucked away there, i'd do the wheels some bright colour though but thats just me. Oh and the mongoose exhaust will sound amazing when you get it on!
