Default My 28K Ford Mondeo 2.0 GLX MK1

I bought this back last December, but it doesent seem like that long ago and I havent had time to post up a topic about it yet let alone do hardly anything with it!

The car I got off a friend who had to quickly shed a few cars. Anyway the story with the car is it was owned new by an older gentleman and my friend aquired it in 2005 and its been in storage since. Its got genuine just under 28K miles! the condition inside and out is superb, almost like new, bar a few scuffs unfortunatly aquired whilst it has been moved about to different locations.

The Tax and Test ran out in 05 but she starts on the button and drives perfect. From what I can tell the only things wrong with the car are a noisy clunk when turning the wheel hard left/right (ball joint / tie rod end?) and one of the coolant pipes going to the rad has rusted and is leaking.

She is a 2 Litre GLX Auto model, Zetec 16V, feels really quick in sport but havent got to do a proper drive unfortunatly. Although she's a GLX my friend added little bits here and there from the GHIA models such as wood/chrome trim, floor lights, headlight protectors etc I'm tempted to carry on his work, maybe add some more stuff like the ghia grille (if I can find a mint one in same colour!)

All ive done to it is a few tiny minor cosmetic and mechanical things, my plan is to get the thing MOT'ed but havent had the spare cash or time to do so with all my other cars and stuff going on, want to aim for getting something done with it by the summer, 7 years is too long for this lovely car to be sat doing bugger all! lol

Here's some pics

PS forgot to add into this topic, that the whole reason I have a soft spot for them (when most people dont) is probably due to the fact one of my very first cars was a Ford Mondeo 1.6L Saloon and I loved it to bits and was angry at myself for getting rid, so when this came up I snapped at the chance to redeem myself and preserve it
heres my first Mondy from waaay back in 2006

looks nice n clean, just a shame about that random bulge/dent in the centre of the bonnet

scary to think that these are gonna start to become scarce in this condition, almost seems too new to consider nice low mileage 1s as a rarity and sought after, if that makes sense? lol

my old man had an SI model brand new on an 94 plate, in white with the RS kit, the rs7s, and the active suspension crap for stiffening up the ride and making people in the back smash their heads on the roof goin over bumps lol. loved that car, looked amazing back in the day!

yeah they are ok, but it's not a top of the range 2.0 ghia or si, so it just look's a bit basic

It's an auto, and not a V6, so my man juice is where it should be Granty

Seriously though, nice car, I had a 2 Litre GLX back in the day, was a good car, and with those miles, it's got to be one of the lowest mile cars out there
