i thought my 52 looked too big in a much bigger room.

Don't you think that takes over the room? My wife would have the right hump if i put that up.

although she wouldn't have much choice

Exactly what I was thinking....our front room is big but I wouldn't want a telly that size as it would dominate the whole room

Just measured and where I sit I'm 4.2 meters away and it really is perfect for the room imo admitidley when you walk in the room it is in your face but i love it the mrs wanted to get a 50" but I said no as we already have a 42" and a 47" the surround sound is 7.1 with wireless rear speakers and really does sound the dogs if I had the money I'd prob go for a Bose or pioneer surround but I wanted to pour more money into the telly

in your average sized living room id guess 65 would be rediculously big, i was having second thoughts of going upto 51 from my current 42. the picture seems to be more blocky looking and notchy/jerky rather than smooth lines and movement.

Liking that

I have a 50" Plasma and an ok sized living room, wanted to buy a 60" screen but bottled it. Wish I had now. For a decent film or gaming experience a big screen makes life so much nicer.

Parents have what was a big (at the time) 32" TV, and now with things moving on as they have, it looks proper pony Have to squint to see it 7 ft away

Looks good. I'm looking into upgrading my seriously small CRT TV at the moment.

What size of TV would be best for a viewing distance of about 10ft? I'm stuck between going for a 42", a 46" or a 50". I don't want the TV to "take over the room"

@ 10ft you can have any of the above really, the 46/50 would be best viewing wise, but it depends on the size of your room and what you think looks best

When I bought my Sony I thought 32" was plenty big enough. But when sat at the other end of the room it looks like a microwave. Maybe time for a new one me thinks after lookin at some of yours

Luckily it won't be for sale in January how much telly do you watch as mine gets watched for 5+hrs a day by me the wife the kids etc and i play ps3 on it all the time so you mean to tell me if I spent 4k on my saff that it would be worth 4k more then it is now

Just saw your reply Chop.

I'm still not sure about the layout of the room yet. Will move the couches around and see what it would be like to have the TV where you suggest
