i was brought up to eat every thing i shot, within scope, not vermin, this was brought home to me as a young lad, my old man made me eat a scabby old town pigeon that i shot in the garden, lesson lernt, i only shoot what i know will be used as dinner, hence the reason i do alot of fishing now, to many rabbits over the years, i wish that more peeps knew where there food came from, open alot of eyes, not a dig by the way..

I kind of miss living down in Devon, as it was real hunting area down there, and it would have been ideal for me and the fact my husky eats rabbits etc, its hard to get them up in Blackpool.
Down in devon i could have just popped off to see a mate who goes hunting and grabbed a few off him

shooting brings more money into the country than alot of people would imagine,
Ł180 to shoot 2 grouse
Ł400 to shoot 1 stag
nearby estate shot 447 brace(894 birds) of grouse in 1 day!(still plenty left)

take it as you wish Iam not the one calling someoine a cunt,I now know why seeing i banned you from selling on this site,so an easy way to "try" and get back at me,pretty petty really dont you think
what battle Iam trying to have an adult debate here without silyl insults, there are no winners or loosers
as i have already said people who hunt for sport will use the game they have shot unless it cannot be eaten like crows, magpies, foxes to name a few
the thrill is in the hunt not the kill for most field sportsman, you obvioulsy think its all about kiling,it isnt thats what you probably cant get your head around
Iam glad it bearable for you to think someone who hunts is using the meat,a bit like your mum going in the supermarket and buying chicken for sunday dinner
only difference is the hunters meat is fresher and organic unlike most meat people shove in the face
you dont understand how someone can kill
well its not about the kill its about the hunt, something you havnt even realised

And the only meat that passes ~nomad~'s lips is my cock
Hope this clears things up

a little strong calling people "cunts" just becasue you dont agree with what they do
I wouldnt say anyone kills for fun,its actually called "sport" unless your killing vermin or culling deer.
the sporting shooting industry is hugh in this country and generates millions of pounds into the ecomony
obvioulsy you dont understand about feild sports so you resport to abuse.
you will be saying were all cruel next, which you will find anyone who takes part into counrty sports hates cruelty

nothing should die for the enjoyment of others. "sport" as you call it is barbaric whether its painless or not,
necessity is another thing but,
sport ..ffs.
amazing a Scottish anti,Iam surprized seeing most of Scotlands income comes from hunting and fishing

I'd give hunting a go, but then again i've always had an interest in self sufficiency, know how to hunt, field dress a carcass and then the full butchering later would be classed as useful skills to me, but i would only do it for food really, kill for cooking, wouldnt just go out with the rifle and leave a trail of fluffy destruction behind me for "sport" lol

Its a neccessary evil.
Killing is cruel but these fella's are hunting, managing furry options for the necessary reasons.
Respect for the game is the difference.
I know a folk who kept chickens..He would have to root the weak out for the sake of the majority..So learnt the skills to kill clean.
Why would he then go and beat one to death with a hammer while it flails from a broken neck he served it?...
thats a cunt not a calculator imop.
Fuck i fancy some vennison now, with fried onions in a fresh buttered bagette
just my op not a judgement on others

I shoot (air gun) and do a bit of ratting and rabbiting with the dogs. I do it for the pleasure and the social aspect but it has a purpose too, I wouldn't do it if it didn't have a purpose. Whatever I don't eat goes to the dogs....Except the rats of course, they go in the bin.

Always gonna open a can of worms saying you enjoy hunting/fieldsports sadly....i've been going shooting since i was a kid with the old man and not ashamed to say i enjoy the sporting aspect of it and always have done.
Trying to argue the point or justify yourself to some people is totally pointless as they'll never see reason (fair enough, and if you're not brought up around it i can see why some people may not understand the concept or just not agree with it), but it's been a way of life for hundreds of years for many people in the country and i for one wouldn't stop doing it for anyone!
Everything i shoot goes back into the food chain in one way or another, my main quarry being woodpigeons are considered a pest by farmers and as such i actually get asked to shoot them as they cause damage to their crops.
I've had countless 'debates' with people over the years who have taken it upon themselves to try and preach/question me as to why i do what i do when someone mentions that i go shooting, and tbh the ignorance of some people never fails to amaze me as to what goes on in the world or how their meat ends up on the plate lol....everything i shoot is 100% free range and had a totally roam free lifestyle, it just so happens that i've killed it whilst in its natural habitat rather than it being rounded up en mass and being killed in a slaughter house.

I think this is an area which is going to be a 2 sided arguement. I live and work on a shooting estate in North Yorkshire and am around it all the time. If people knew what actually goes on then opinions would change. Pest control is number 1 priority for everyone in agriculture in my eye. Arable farmers loose acres of crop to rabbits and hares every year and we control these in the correct manner. We have an arboretum that I work for and we control Deer and grey squirrels because of the damage they cause to trees. This is a definate must with the amount of rare trees we have growing in the arboretum. Foxes are controlled as they kill lots of pheasants and partridges. Need I go on.....?

Can lamp on privete property or with permission from land owner with knowledge of boundaries and what backdrops to shoot into and where not.
I do a lot of pigeon shooting using an 11.8 lb air rifle.
Rabbit numbers are growing around my area so will be doing some rabbit control soon.
I too can see why people dont like it but as said previously, unless you are born into it or braught up around it then some tend to blow things out of proportion.
