Default I was bored

Can you tell that I have had too much time on my hands recently ROFL

Decided a while ago to remove the stenciling on the rear lamps and thought I'd get rid of the bulb filters as well so as to make things look a little different.

Before removing lettering

After

Bulb filter removal
1st one done

Finished

Obviously, I will need some appropriately coloured bulbs to go in the brake and indicator lamps. I am aiming for the silver-effect ones which will keep the appearance but will shine more than bright enough when lit.

The principle is the same as LandRover. On the Range Rover Sport Supercharged models, the rear lights are clear and the bulbs are all pre-coloured and finished with the silver-effect.

Just a subtle mod, but it is the sort of thing that would not be noticed unless placed next to another similar car.

Would be interested to see them fitted to your car once you've sourced the bulbs - post up some pics when you can please.

Nope, but I have left the original Ford logo on each lamp, which should suffice as proof of them being an OEM fitment and therefore suitable for use under european law.

The part number is also on the rear of the lamp, which can be cross-referenced via any Ford main dealer.

None yet as I only finished them about 9pm last night. I am hoping to fit them this weekend, all be it with some coloured bulbs. The silver-effect will be @ the end of the month.

You know what I'm like Martin, always got to be doing something different

As for the Pop, the engine is out and stripped. The head has been ground, the head is being decked as I speak and when that is done the whole lot will be painted. Everything else is ready for reassembly pretty much and should be done next month, time allowing.

Okay, got them fitted this evening and have some pics for you. Will get some better ones in daylight, but to show what they are like in the dark, when they matter most), I have these.

A reference photo for original

How they are now

Indicator

Indicator and side light for intensity

Brake light

Comparison for side light and brake light intensity

I am currently having to use some orange indicator bulbs and red brake light bulbs, so there is still a very slight tint to them, but when the silver-effect ones are here, that final tint should be gone.

So, thoughts so far?

Worth it?
