New "winter" toy
Hi guys,
Last week I've bought myself a nice toy for the winter... The idea was to buy a "lowbudget" car for having some fun...
Unfortunetaly it's not an Escort Cos (I think its a shame to use them during the winter )
So I bought a Saff 4x4 with a shiny colour (performance blue) with leather and aircon.
The car is never tuned (even the fuelpressure regulator is a virgin ) It only has some bilstein shocks with loweringsprings. The car had gone a full respray in 2004 and has been storaged since then. So I was quitly surpriced that the engine started almost immediately without any rattles or knocking noises The car is originally from Italy, so rust??? Where?? The bottem is like new!!
It only needs a very good cleanjob. Ow yeh, the white vents on the bonnet are also beeing painted in blue, and the panels near the rearwindow are replaced by oem black ones :headbang: And...it's need an "under the bonnet resto"
Now I'm going to hunt for some nice uprated parts (so if anyone has something, send me an email.....) I already bought a set of original Saff 17" WOLF wheels, they are at the paintshop now.
First thing to replace is the exhaust for an SS one
Some pic's:
Cheers,
Bjorn

Nice car, mate. Surprised the door cards held up to the italian sun so well. Mine look like the back of a ginger bloke who's fallen asleep in the mediterranean sun for too long...
Shame about the respray though. I mean, it's a lovely colour but surely it'd be worth more with the original paintjob?
Anyways, great to have another italo-YBJ on the forum!

Originally it was Ebony Black, but its a good paintjob, done by pro's. TBH I'd rather have a nice colour and a good condition of the body than the original colour and in shite condition
I'm not going to change the colour, only make the vents in the same colour as the car. It's from a small place near Rimini

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Also, the fact that the colour is not original wouldn't alter the value much in my opinion as Saffs don't fetch huge money anyway. If you were comparing 2 concourse Saffs, one in original paint colour and one in an aftermarket paint colour then agreed the original would be worth more but in this case i don't think the colour makes a lot of difference.
