Awesome, surging as it comes on boost but thats making some big numbers.

I showed this to my mate the other day and we both agreed once thats laying the power down in the first 1/8th I'd imagine its will start giving Specky a hard time.

the aim is to get it into the 9s from what i could gather from speaking to chris on the day, he will get the 1/8ths down soon thats for sure as he is going to limit the boost in the 1st couple of gears iirc.

more power to come soon as well figure of 750 was mentioned bloody insane i tell ya haha

I'd be worrying about putting the power down than trying to make more, he is just down on speed compared to Specky but then he does have over 50hp less.

Seriously impressive car, atleast he isn't trying to get that out of a 5 turbo engine

that would be glenn or hi5 tuning who is pushing the c1j further than anyone else has done, ran an 11.01 on last outing, hes converted it to efi he will certainly dip into the 10s this year

lol i know mate am sure he will get it sorted will be great to see an r5 into the 9s

I don't own it anymore, sold it in 2006 although it did come back to me a few months back for a turbo engine conversion, no where near as nice as it was sadly.
Strangely my first car was also a Nova on 40's, sounded awesome with its dtm exhaust ! I did love that car though.

There's probably more to it than this but its when the engine can't consume the amount of air the turbo can supply, my old engine suffered with it, msd mapped it out though.

correct mate, the turbo starts rapidly accelerating and decelerating reversing the load on the bearing many times a second. thats why the new GT series turbos are arguably more prone to damage with their roller bearing core's than the solid bearings of the old T series turbo's

very brief spec here

DOHC 2.0L 16v Turbo
Clio 172 block & cylinder head
Garrett GT40/30r
2" turbosmart wastegate, seperate discharge
Custom cams, hydro lifters
Forged pistons
Steel rods, ARP 2000
Twin bosch 044 fuel pumps & seperate lift pump
Water injection
Adaptronic race engine management

2011:
The core engine is retained but running through an audi 6 speed 02M instead of the old unreliable 5 speed. It uses RS4 shafts with Renault outers, solid mounts and a 670lb rated drag clutch from SPEC in the USA. Hydraulic pedal instead of cable. There's a pair of new manifolds and some other changes too.
