3Door Cosworth exhausts (pic request)
Looking for some pictures of 3door Cossies with a stainless steel exhaust fitted. Please post some pics and the make and size (tailpipe) of the exhaust.
Oh and Pete, you don't have to post pics
Thanks.

I've been offered a like new Mongoose system with 4" tailpipe but I'm not sure on the size, I often think 4" is too big. Price is very good though...

Wahay!! I've lost my Virginity!!
Heres a pic of mine with a collins moongoose with a 3,1/2" tailpipe, best size, have had a 3" & 4" on and this is the best fit to bumper hole size, and not to noisey compared to the 4".
You used to be able to buy just the tailpipe section from Scorpion with the rolled out end, maybe buy one of Pauls 2nd hand ones and weld the 3,1/2 " section onto the back box, cheap exhaust then.
If Scorpion no longer do it i am sure ebay has these stainless steel sections with the rolled out tail pipe around the 20 quid mark last time i checked.

Think I'm just going to order a new one next week. Just have to make up to choose between Mongoose or Blueflame. Some say the Blueflame has a longer tailpipe (wich I don't like), is this true?

Wahay!! I've lost my Virginity!!
Unsure of the length of my tailpipe or the blueflame, when i bought my exhaust the middle section rear tail end was to long and when all together made the back/boxtail pipe stuck out to far when i fitted it up, just cut a small amount of till i was happy with the fit, was the same on my sapphire also.
I have a blue flame on my escort cossie, fitted before i bought it and it is to long, just bought a full Magnex system so will change this when i get back home to the UK, working in Indonesia at the moment.

Forgot to say that it was only between 3/4" to 1" i cut of the rear pipe of the centre section, made all the difference to the fit for the rear section, this was many years ago now and maybe they are better made as this was an early moongoose.
I am sure if you call either co. direct they will make whatever style you require for the rear box rather than the newer inward rolled ones they do as these i think spoil the exhausts.

The power engineering system is identical to the Magnex, was a beautiful welded up/finished exhaust but then at 680 delivered to me at the time i enquired was just to much for me, magnex wanted 560 and i got both Collins systems at the time for my 500 and sapphire for 640 delivered so was a no brainer at the time, but in hind sight wish i had bought either of the Magnex or the power engineering ones as they were the same shape as the original ford one, 2 centre boxes side by side.
Loads of ground clearance with either of these.
If you have your car lowered i would think carefully about the single pipe systems as they will ground out, if i have 2 people in my 500 and pull out an gun it to overtake cars sometimes the centre box will catch the cats eyes, and it looks as if i have plenty of clearance when static.

Thanks for all your info Swoosh
My car is at standard height atm and will only be lowerd with Ahmed springs and Koni shocks, that will be 1" orso. I know the Magnex style systems have better clearance but indeed that tailpipe doesn't look right for me. I've had contact with Magnex a couple weeks ago and they told me they could only do that systemen with a inwards rolled pipe...
