Show off your KA's
I am a new member to the forum and found a couple of nice and mad ford ka's. I am thinking of getting a cheap project car sometime this year so please post pictures, spec and tips from you experience with the small ford.
I am thinking of getting either erst s2 or getting a ka and having some fun with it
please post up your ka's
thanks

SportKa
Hi there
This is my SportKa
I'd really like to have it looking like this:
The bodykit is by Stoffler.
The SportKa comes with a 1.6 duratec engine which puts out 94bhp as standard. I've uprated the air filter, making it more responsive and providing some nice induction noise, not been dyno'd yet so no figures.
Like to play with mine a bit more but know a lad who has plans to get a solid 130 bhp from a n/a 1.6 duratec with Vulcan Power's help.
Kas are fantastic little motors, the wheels are right on the corners so they handle brilliantly.
Contrary to popular opinion, owning one doesn't give you the gay .

U came onto GTIROC with that and got slated. But I think its sweet. The interior and lights arnt to my taste but everything else is spot on. Can U still buy those archs from from Ford. I fancy the idea of puttin one of these together as a run-around

As far as i know they have been discontinued. The clear headlights in that pic arent available either, UK spec have horrible orange indicators.
They are available in south America but they are for left hand drive motors.
I love the Ka, its absolutely quality seeing peoples faces as they get wooped by a
Ford Ka, but i keep getting offered sapphire cossies in exchange and im starting to be temped.
Is it worth having an ageing (yeah i know its still a cossie) Sapphire and have the extra space and legendary engine, or is having something unique, fast and a wolf in sheeps clothing more fun?
Also, whats considered to be better the RWD or 4x4? I know you can get the arse out in the RWD but is one generally considered better?
cheers.

Minty Fresh, I went from a 4x4 gtir to a rwd 200sx. Its all about personal perference. But I totally agree with U on the individuality stakes. Its boring being the same as everyone else
So how successful was the Ford Racing Range for the KA then? Archs, wheels , alacantra seats etc.

Well like i said i think all the arches were sold and are knocking about on a few kas i know of, i dont know what the wheels were but ford prices are expensive as you know so i would have thought they struggled, and the seats often pop up on ebay.
I went from a S14a 200sx to an FD RX7 to my Ka, and i have to say the least fun out of all of them was the RX7. The handling was so perfect that you never felt on the edge, and to me thats no fun
So i think ive just answered my own question, i think the 4x4 would bore me in a too good handling stakes. But i cant see me letting the Ka go, still so much i wanna do

minty fresh - i remember seeing your car in the resto/rebuilds part on here. loved it at the time and really opened to my eyes about what can be done with a KA!
only downside id say is think it looked better with frst vents!
and as for the cossie - you've had and done a KA now. its probably been fun but nothing in my eyes would match a cossie - go for a rwd saph!!

the ford racing stuff was part of an extensive road kit developed by boreham alongside their development of the ka series rally car. as many of you know boreham got shut down and all the parts were auctioned off.
these people are the ones that we in the owners club have contacted for racing parts before but now not sure on the availability of such parts.
