Talking SEMA Show

Got back home from working in America earlier this week and amongst the things I did I managed to blag my way into SEMA show.
I'll leave you with the photos as that's what you'll be interested in...

Start with a Seibon styled new Skyline - fitted with lots of matt carbon items. They had 5 cars on their stand, all high quality and carbon all over.

Prius Hybrid and CR-Z

370Z

This skyline had about 30miles on the clock

Vinyl wrapping - many examples throughout the show..as you will see

Check the bonnet - lush

Air suspension - check the tyre bulges in the wings and bonnet

Two door Evo

Full carbon front end

Pair of race BMW's

More vinyl

Full replica inc inside

Moving inside to the trade areas...

Bit mental, and running 26" wheels !

Twin engined monster

Matt black Lexus. The 'eye' of the wing mirror is a small rear facing camera

2 litre Toyota engine, as fitted to the Celica and MR2 - now in an old model Starlet

More vinyl wrapping - on a Veyron !!

Drift cars

One with very retro dash

Time Attack carbon Evo - fitted with an engine you'll all recognise

Seibon Race GT-R

Ken Block Fiesta from Gymkhana 3 videos

Dodge Viper

I think these CR-Z's are going to be popular

Ken Block Fiesta he was doing drifting & skill displays with

Very lovely GTR with splashes of carbon

Shelby GT500

Top Gear USA turned up - this Merc, the Monaro in the background, a 911, a Lambo and Ferrari - all in yellow, all giving taxi rides

Awesome pics, there looks to have been a really diverse range of stuff there. Would love to go. I was intrigued by this though, you commented as though it was something unusual.....

Yes, at the convention centre.

Is it? I thought they'd turned a Cos engine through 90.
And now I've just looked and it's just like this one
http://allworldcars.com/wordpress/wp...r_fq-340_3.jpg
Any idea what the Cosworth bit is about - is it just some internals manufactured by them?

Cosworth have their fingers in all kinds of pies. Cosworth as we know it is a thing of the dim and distant past. They make Evo bits (nothing that exciting really, we don't use them). There is lots of other stuff they are involved in too.

But, yes, it's a 4G63 Evo engine and despite the car being utterly bonkers, the engine looks pretty ordinary. Unlike some of the stuff in your pics, looked like a great experience overall and I am highly jealous.

Good trip then!

How did you find it out of interest?

I did it in Australia and found it a little over-rated if I'm totally honest

Cheers, I'm pleased members are enjoying the pics. It's one of those shows that all car enthusiasts know about and would love to attend. I probably wouldn't have the opportunity again so when I realised it was on I knew I had to try to get in Well worth it, some amazing cars.

The show was worth going to and being in Vegas helped Looking to book for next year
I will post my Skydive Vid on here soon and it was nearly 30seconds free fall, I cant see how it could be over rated unless you have balls of steel.

Cheers. I think the CR-Z's will be big in the modified car world...but Ł17-20k is more toward the higher end buyers and company show cars than the saxo brigade.

^ They'll be back soon - only on a free account and the bandwidth limit got reached pretty quick so they don't show until the month is reset.
On the plus side it shows that they were (hopefully) worth looking at.
