Will have to change this to my project thread, its really started now

Took the car down to my local dealer so they could have a look and make a list of what i need to do to it (they are one of the few who understand the standards we expect) well it turns out there are a few urgent jobs..

-the bumper is held on with cable ties ()
-the intercooler is only bolted on at the top
-oil leak from the cam pulley, this had obviously been there awhile as there was oil EVERYWHERE underneath, yet only a slight weep from the pulleys..
-exhaust has a few pinholes here and there
-gearlever is bent
-front glass is slightly scratched

Needless to say North Yorkshire RS spares will be getting a ring tomorrow

Clutch should be done soon as well, current bets are that a wrong clutch has been fitted previously.

Also getting a brand new headlining made up, and the front doorcards redone but in leather rather than vinyl so they dont stretch.

Sorry theres no pics, will get my dad to get some tomorrow as he's handling the immediate jobs whilst im away.

Mike

Cars currently sat at Kempsters Ford in heywood ready to get ripped apart tomorrow, dropping everything and giving all the diffs, bushes etc a thorough check over and anything slightly amiss will be getting replaced.

Also had a new heated screen put in the other day and replaced all the seals as they were a little bit marked, im catching the bufty disease

I will also finally get a proper drive of it next saturday, cant wait

Finally got to drive this car today, what a car, the torque in midrange is unreal, slips the new clutch if you boot it as well so i think an AP racing one is in order when it goes again..

Will get some more piccies tomorrow.

I didnt expect to have to do this much to it but it does wear the fabled cosworth badge and that usually means you end up doing lots

Cloth trims are rare as for some reason 64 of the 67 iirc specced leather which was extra cost, but the cloth is rarer now by far

i forgot how many were made, 67 in total wasnt it?

6 of those were 302-r's,4 white and 2 moonstone, ive got a pic of 2 302's, 1 with cloth and 1 with leather.

I know a dude on here with a xr4x4 has rouse cloth that were fitted to very rare mk2 xr4i turbo tecnics

Itll be staying as original as possible, getting harder and harder though as parts dry up, Paul at NYRS has been cracking however at finding bits for us. Im having the wasted spark conversion done though, and Kempsters have fitted a Turbo Timer, but aside from that itll be as henry intended really..

Next job will be to sort the wiring loom out (injector loom went the other day, so its currently running on 3 cylinders, as did a few other areas) but thankfully my dads come to the rescue again as he has a top sparky as a mate who used to work at a ford main dealer back in the 90's.

67 were indeed built as said previously
The number of each car was whatever you wanted 1 to 100, no order of build as you chose your number

I am definitely lucky, both with the car and having a dad who steered me towards this one rather than a big spec 2wd magenta as i originally wanted. Definitely wish i could drive it now, bit frustrating having it sat there whilst im at uni but it gets a run out every few weeks.

Jason if you could that would be a massive help! its the one thing its missing to return it to original spec.

Did you get any further with this Jason?

Oil leak fixed, someone had helpfully decided to bodge the wrong oil pressure switch on, also one of the side skirts has now cracked thanks to the oversized rally mudflap things it had on, not good but i think Autoflock will be coming to the rescue soon enough, top lads i will have to keep those of you who require Rouse bodykit parts updated on this.

Cheers Jason, but do you know of any pics of the badge on the cam cover? i am told they had a 15w/50 only badge or something similar on there in the same format as the rouse badge.

Do you also know what colour my badging should be? its moonstone blue but ive got silver rouse badges and you cant even see the damn things in most lights.

Also need peoples opinions with regards to agreed value, not sure what to insure it for?

Had my paint estimate today, Ł500 for front end to rear doors and repairs to sideskirts and front splitter, didnt think it was bad.

Paint is done and car is back from MSD, will post pictures of the graph when i get back home tonight but the car made 281 BHP on the rollers and has a suspected ported head. Chuffed to bits and cant wait to drive the improved version, i am told it is a world apart from what it used to be. Cheers James and Co

Yes there should be a badge on the cam cover, mine never had one tho, you are correct it was for the oil 15w/50 etc.
If I remember your badging is correct on your car.
Value wise due to the rareity now I would say for a mint original Rouse as near to standard as possible would be Ł10k. This is difficult tho as it is a marmite car for most people, but almost impossible to replace
