Default Cool BMX's from the 80's

I was thinking about all the different bikes people used to have when they were a kid etc, and had a 2 minute look on Google where i found a couple of decent sites, anyway thought i'd post up a couple of the classic ones I saw, fell free to add!

I had one of these, seems like it wasn't all that long ago!

My bro had this one

Heres a few others from that era

Rayleigh Boxer

Grifter

Chopper

And I'm still trying to find the black BMX, I think it was a Rayleigh, that had the black box that made all those funky noises, does anyone remember what it was called?

My 1st bike was a raleigh strika, then i had a few burners, then i had an oval tube burner, and what i think was called a midnight burner,it was chrome underneath this gold plasticky coating which i kept picking off, then an amaco twin tube thing and my last 1 was a fancy stunt mongoose with a helicopter headset,cd crank sprocket, layback seat pole, victor pedals, mushroom grips and fancy bars.i was the same with bmx's as i am with cars!

I think I have the exact same pic stored on my puter at home. They are worth some serious money now. The bike I always dreamed about as a kid but my rents bought me a Team Murray instead.

There are a few on Ebay for upwards of £300.

I'm just imagining a new trend of 30-somethings riding around on restored 80's BMX's.

Another mate i knew had one of these, a super tuff Burner. The gold was a sort of plastic skin and if you picked it it revealed nice shinny chrome tubing which was utter cool when your like 11 or 12 lol

Anyone remember the tale of if you bent your Skyway mags, just stick them in the fridge and they go back perfect.

Was that just a kids myth or fact ? lol

I was the same, I knew someone that had one, we couldn't believe how exepnsive it must've been because it had all the gadgets on it. Mind you looking back I think my bike is uber cool now, so I'm glad I had that one instead!
My bro got another bike, i remember it was white with white wheels, can't remember if it was before or after the burner, i'm sure it was some sort of Aero thing and the frame was oval instead of round.
